Demo and Full version now available for Mac OSX

We just posted a version live for purchase and demo usage. Please try out the demo first to ensure that everything works well for your system. Note that once you install and launch Fantasy Grounds, you should click the Check for Updates button right away to download the supported rulesets for 3.5E, 4E and PFRPG.

We are not Mac experts at all, but we will help as best as we can if you have any issues.

NOTE: We now recommend using the installer from our website https://www.fantasygrounds.com available under Downloads > Mac OSX Installer

When prompted for a license, right-click + Paste in your CD Key as displayed in Steam. If you want to run the Demo, just leave this blank.

We might have an issue reading the purchased DLC through Steam right now for Mac users. We will work on getting that correctly as soon as possible.

Hi i'm a mac user and i'm trying to use the demo version because i want to be sure to by this game and that i can work on my mac. I have a little problem: every time i try to start the demo it says that i can't sync the files of FG to steam clouds. I have the suspect that a programme i use "little snitch" stop the connection betwenn clouds and FG, or maybe my winebottler. I don't know, i just hope this is the right place to ask help and to find someone that can help me. Nice work anyway :D

there is no sync of files *to* the cloud but it does download rulesets and any dlc *from* the cloud. can you try disabling the little snitch for 5 mins and see if it works then?

On the Settings tab, also make sure you have the option for the Steam DLC check set to off.

I have an issue with FG on OS X. It uses a lot of CPU, like 40% which is a lot since I have an i7. The worst part comes when FG loses the focus (selecting another app) and it starts using 100% of the CPU. That makes the computer heat A LOT in a matter of seconds, and it's very painful to put my computer on that stress while preparing campaings (wich involves a lot of side apps to search info, graphics, etc).

Also the theme for D&D 5E is a bit ugly (not to mention being ripped off from Kingdom Rush). I know it's just a matter of taste, but are you planning on releasing a more elaborated theme and ruleset for D&D 5E?

Hello L4D15, there are two things you want to check for an optimal experience. First, right-click on your properties from Steam and turn off the Steam overlay. Second, launch Fantasy Grounds and go into the Settings screen. Make sure that the option for "Cross-platform compatibility mode" is turned on and network diagnostics and debug mode are turned off.

As for the 5E theme, we find that people either love or hate it. We have another version in development that is my new favorite theme/skin. We are not able to release it yet. Once we do, I'll make an announcement and it will show up as a new extension - or replace the existing one and move the existing one to an optional extension skin.

Hey @Steelkiss - RMC does work on Mac - Ill get someone to double check and Ill post back.

SteelKiss, it will work; however, all DLC on Mac should be purchased from our Store directly and linked to an FG forum userid. Enter the same user id and password into your settings on your Mac and it will download those items from our store. The authentication of DLC purchased through Steam does not work on Mac - hence the work-around.
