unable to save [filename] to cache
hi!

im playing a friends story and im receiving the log message bellow:

Network Notice: Client ruleset download complete
Runtime Error: Unable to save file (C:/ProgramData/Fantasy Grounds/cache/A/usersettings/hotkeys.xml) - Error (13): Permission denied
Runtime Error: Unable to save file (campaign/images/Mapa 2.png) to cache. Please restart Fantasy Grounds and reset cache on launch screen before rejoining game.

the unable to save the png file is the thing worring me. GM made available some maps. they take forever to load (or download) and i believe the log msg is related to it.

any help?

Is this your first session? if so you may have a permissions issue on your fg data folder. if its a new error Id follow the instruction and delete your cache - you do this via the nuke icon on the Join Game screen. It will be slow to start on your next session as it has to redownload the cache but it should clear up the issue above.

log window didnt show again. maps still take forever to load.

ive changed the files folder directory to one i my documents folder, nuked it all, executed FG from its folder using admin privileges.

I recommend you DONT use Admin privileges. It means that you may have to switch other apps like your voice app into Admin mode also or push to talk keys wont work etc. Its best if you make sure that your user or all users have read/write/modify permissions to that data folder and then run in normal mode.
If the images take a long time to load there are three likely causes -

You - or the GM - doesnt have as reliable a connection as you think you do (it might be wifi and whist it does work there could be a lot of dropped packets and retries), the images are just large (I aim to keep all my images below 1mb and well under that if possible), the GM has a slow upload speed and with several players it is uploading images 4,5,6x etc which just takes time.

If its teh first one - try moving closer to the wifi or using a LAN cable
If its the second cause - resave your images as JPG and set the qulity to about 40% and you could save as much as 90% of the file size and keep a playable quality of image
If its the last one the GM can pre-load images via a right click option earlier in the game (make sure they are masked) and then reveal them at the appropriate time.
