If that will be disappointing, as i have just had a decent sized group ask me to DM for them as i'm the only one that has any experience with DnD. But i don;t want to be buying this again, in case the group doesn;t get on with DnD (12 yr old nephews friends and family).
i was hoping i could get them into it, and them move them all over this this platform..
also tried relaunching, still stuck on the launch screen..
thanks
"stuck on the steam popup that says "preparing to launch fantasy grounds".....
as all steam games do..."
If all games are doing this your steam client its self sounds like the problem.
In the case of fantasy grounds, steam is just a key vendor, the download they host is a copy of the demo client from the FG website. The only difference between launching through steam versus directly is that steam will also inject their overlay.
If you can launch the program without steam, just do that, problem solved. You can also just download the demo from the FG website and enter the account info and product key.
If you haven't tried running in 5 years, delete and reinstall the application. There have been many updates in the last five years.
Also, you can run it directly, you do not have to use Steam. Make sure you have a copy of your licence key ready, you may need it for the reinstall.
To be clear, i meant that when i click the play button, as all games do, it pops up with the small box that says "preparing to launch....."
But unlike all other steam games, it does not pass that point, and just freezes there. rather than launching the game.
I didn;t realise this was one of those games that didn;t need steam to run in parrallel, So i'll try that.
I also tried downloading the client from the website, but am pretty sure its the unity version, so don;t think my key will work with it. So may need to try and find the original client on the website somewhere.
Thanks again, i'll try again with a more sober head. :)
I didn;t see the small window showing the CD-key, and the button to click to "play"....
it was hidden behind another window..
Doh!
