You get EXP to your max level directly off of energy used, so that's the way to level up your account level so you can then in turn level up your heroes higher. As for the stuff to level things, yeah they all get pretty wild. But you should be getting a fair bit from doing the daily stuff (and even doing more even if it isn't the bonus ones just to use exp to gain levels).
A lot of the - i forget the name, the quests they send you to do - voyages? Whatever it is, that gives you a lot of rewards that work to help level your stuff. You can also get a lot of stuff from various events, doing the story destiny stuff, etc. Just look about see if any of that will lead to more resources to help you upgrade. And make sure you are doing the third slot (emblems?) as they seem to be relatively easy to upgrade in comparison to the rest and give a big boost.
I never looked into gear or meta builds. I guess if you have low star legendary, check its stats to any gold gear you have maxed to see how they stand. I have similar to you party wise, though I don't have Magnus and just got Acambe (so don't use him really), but have Gloria and Rawiyah and dropped Faycal but can't recall for who atm.
But yeah other than that, not sure. I looked at your hours out of curiosity and I think I only have 5 more hours than you. Not sure what all you put time in into what vs. what I did, but just recently hit level 60 (though could only afford a handful of characters to level up). May just need to grind a bit and do other content for rewards.
I'll just list a few below:
[0] Game rules: Needless to say this is the 1st few things you should be learning back in the tutorial. Class counters, advantages and disadvantages on fighting each class types. Fighting mechanism like Knock Back, Retaliate, Guard, Heal, Cleanse and so on... Passive buffs like Faction Leader Buffs, Command Aura buff/debuff are all important stuffs to make a stage easier.
[1] Stage rules, Stage mechanism: Make sure you learn and read the stage rules as well as the mechanism on the stage. Fire tiles, Torches, Falling Rocks, Rolling Barrels, and well as falling off edges. These are the important tools to make your life easier in a battle and they shattered all over the places. Fool's Journey for Gloria is where you learn the importance of Flag Buff. So your main aim there is just destroying enemies flag so Gloria can setup the Union's flag.
[2] Commander Skills: These are basically "Cheat Skills". Make sure you pick the correct commander skill for each stage. For Gloria FJ, you get an extra commander skill that summons and gather up the team into a single spot, use that wisely on the "correct timing" to turn the tide of battle. You have a "super cheat", use it.
[3] Talent Tree upgrade: This is the most important thing to prioritize in the game. It gives permanent states and perks. You get your commander skills unlock/upgrade here as well.
[4] Gear upgrades: Make sure you upgrade and level up your gears. Prioritize this over character upgrades. Gears are swap-able so you can use it on other characters at strategy needs. And in most Gacha-games that tried to sell you tons of characters, weapon's powercreep happen slower than character's powercreep, so they may stay useful longer than most characters you own.
[5] Stars upgrades: Make sure you collect fragments to level up your character's stars. Some Characters may not be useful until their talent gets unlocked at certain star level... but once you maxed their stars, they become super useful in a lot of battles.
[6] Rank Upgrades and Skills unlocking: Make sure you prioritize the Faction Buff and Command Auras, they are super useful in strategy planning.
[7] Bond upgrades: Do not underestimate the 5% you get here.
A lot of good useful info here for people to look at, though just as an aside they did mention they were level 42, so quite a bit away from 60 yet.
Lv42 should be able to deal with Lv55± stages if he's doing it right. It's not hard to clear stages 15 levels higher in this game. Lv60 you will be facing the Lv70 stages which are fairly easy as well if you know the game rules. The part where getting to 60 shouldn't be a problem at all with all those power given at early stage, you should felt OP all the way to Lv60 where most enemies could be 1 shot... It's only when you are capped and no longer have means to get stronger, then the difficulty should start showing. The current game caps at Lv60, but the game stages are beyond that at Lv70 top right now, but with all those given power, even these final stages are easy right now.
Weapon trials harder than other dungeons because game not restrict you from trying highest levels. Stat checks also pretty high.
If you understand boss mechanics and still die, just wait and level up your heroes.
You have a really good heroes for weapon dungeon. Col, Acambe, Inanna and Beryl are great for this dungeon.
If you want a bit more specific advice would be nice to ask more specific question. each weapon boss require unique tactic and team, so we could give you better advice
Some good advice from meowish, unfortunately i already knew most of that. Ive been playing the TRPG genre since tactics ogre. I do appreciate the response though.
I managed to clear Lv. 55 on weaponry trial one, ive watched videos on the mechanics of the bosses, trial II is not following the same formula as the videos for me for some reason, i figured my SPD may be too low? IDK. but its not just those that are kicking my ass. Could only manage to 1 star 7-5 in fools journey and im just scraping by on the whole chapter. Traders in the desert, im struggling with Above the scales VIII, only 2 starred VII. Act VI and up on confront in free mode i cant seem to clear at all. Cleared everything on Assist. I cant seem to clear the last boss on Voyage of discovery at difficulty 3. I get it down to one tempest and he wipes me.
I dont have Void stab for Col so im running newborn blade and mavericks coat. Im running Faycal as Alert short with the Irian combat bow. I have reorganized cube and 5 star Coexist armor (cant think of anything better i have to replace it.) for Inanna. Dueling daggers/evergreen pendant on Maitha. Cornucopia staff and flying blade armguard seems to work decently with Acambe and the shadow assassins. Starry sky heritage and disaster bottle on Beryl. Feast axe and 5 star Unique coat on Magnus. All the gear is level 40+ All Tarots are 50.
Magnus and Beryl are the only ones at 1 star. Currently working on that. Everyone has atleast bond level 1. Col is bond 5 Beryl is bond 4.
The way you all describe it, im feeling ridiculous now for struggling with it but i am.
For instance game demolished me suddenly with that Fool's Journey chapter that has Gloria (my backside seemingly opened a rift to hell, from all the fire that was coming out of it), while next one was piece of cake. Plus it was demolishing me with weapon trials of 55-60 lvls as well - finding guides on youtube helped, but you sometimes really need that order that gets you 300 speed and 1 energy, since for me it also sometimes didn't align. As a sidenote - fck the new stages of weapon trials and new event of 5 difficulty, they are too sweaty if you are not perfect and even at my 56 lvl they are tearing me a new one easily.
Gear is important in some weird ways. Most of it is VERY situational, and only some is of general use of anybody. Like you would benefit a lot from having an epic axe that gets rid of enemy buffs (5 star will get rid of 2 buffs at a time), reorganized cube is amazing, spring bottles, that epic grade sword that gets you more defence when you are attacked from the front or sides, tuning hammer - all's good. You seem to have pretty nice gear already.
Coexist armour is subjectively better on somebody that can heal regardless of the healer. Maitha, Cocoa, Rawiya - these kind of people. More chances that they will stay healty to recieve the full benefit.
Remember that you can actually replay your dailies however much you want to spend you energy except taro, weapon trials and memory fragments. This helped me get that tiny bit more powder to upgrade stuff and that tiny bit of stars to upgrade talents.
With trials - do not sleep on your non-legendaries. Like that outlaw guard is amazing, butterfly is good, papal guard is a godly tank, fire sorceress can get insane damage out due to scorch buffs she gets (especially if you have edda, since her barrel can lower enemy m.def by 40%) - this stuff. Like I cleared lvl 55 weapon trial (the one that hates melee I think) with beryl, edda and fire sorceress in two turns at lvl 46, and the sorceress did more than half the damage. Since I didn't spend a dime on the game - some guides about non-legendaries helped me a lot.
Weapon boss 3 is just stat check. So if you dispel every buff from him, lower his atk, have anti-magic aura and anti-magic armor and still die, then just come back later.
I skipped acambe, but from what i saw he is beast againts bosses.
To me looks like you just need wait some time and level up your heroes. Personally only diffuculty i found was weapon bosses. I spent alot of time on lvl 70 and barelly kill them.
65 wasnt easy, but its more or less easy when you get 60th lvl.
I suggest you to play Spiral of Destenies mode if you have time, its actually give nice rewards for level up main accoint.
For not boss levels i suggest to summon, Safiyyah. She is top in many tier list and she has really strong and universal kit
For Weapon Trails each of the trail bosses have different patterns and required you to tackle them with different team setup. Since you're watching a video for it, i guess you should be knowing... well.. what you should be expecting there. Each level difficulty raise may changes on how the boss reacts, and certain boss has high hatred to a certain characters/roles... (Try bring Butterfly and you will know what i meant there)
For 7-5 it's the usual destroying flags as priority. Remember that the flags are the culprit that your enemies are strong, breaking them stops the buff and make them weaker. Plus Gloria will setup one for your team after you made some spaces there and that makes you stronger enough to make the boss a piece of cake. Needless to say, avoid the cannon, or use it for your own advantages by luring in the enemies and summon a dummy/archer on the trigger plate.
For the Desert Event, well, the preset ones are easy enough. For the free version that you can deploy your own characters, just rely on the trader's summon. Summon the dancers, they are the most useful one since they do both fixed damages and heal your team up. Since there's no enemies that are immune to fix damaged in that event, you can consider them pretty over powered. And yes, fixed % damage is a way to go if your team is too low in fire power and can't damage the enemies' thick armor. Also, it's not always a must for SSR characters, SR (Epic) characters are super useful in a lot of places as well, for instance, you might find Abyss more useful when you need to tackle enemies stronger than you.
I didn't try the lower difficulty on the voyage so i am not too sure what boss you're talking about there. But the stages are randomized each run, so i don't think it will be the same for everyone. The only advice one can give is to use whatever you learn there and proves your skills as a commander. If you really can't do the difficulty you're on right now, you can always switch to the lower difficulty, as far as i can tell from the reward list, you still get 12k on the 1st difficulty weekly (the SP reset on Sunday), so it's not a big deal there. And it's only worth farming without SP if you can clear the highest difficulty.
Well, as far as Online game goes, they will design a lot of "stuck point" for those unaware and try to trick you into spending more money to get stronger. So don't fall for it, if you really think this game is starting to creep up on you on that part, it's probably time to stop.
Below is a "fun?" game that.. well... explains a bit on these "sink hole" the game devs pull in MMOs.
