I do agree with the frustration, though. So many times I wished for something useful only to get aura or supports skills or characters that already have a full kit.
It needs a re-roll, or a skill category selection. Just try and get a reaction or basic attack option.
I had 5 characters on the battle field and they gave me this. I literally closed the game. Not worth the effort or frustration when bad mechanics exist to screw you over.
This basically forces you to never use main characters for any missions with skill scrolls, otherwise you just screw over your main characters. All of my main characters are screwed over because of these dumb mechanics.
All we can do is bring up our grievances and hope they will correct these issues by release.
Maybe with the full release we will have possible options, but the demo does not last long enough to really matter.
RNG for obtaining abilities isn't the issue here.
6 slots for "Learned" abilities isn't the issue ether.
Having no option to replace skills when you're asked to choose abilities is ridiculous.
Especially when other characters on the field could have learned an ability. A character who couldn't even learn an ability was chosen out of the five characters.
Showing me abilities I cant learn is just mockery. It's saying, "You can't learn this" Why even show me an ability that I can't even select? Might as well dangle a slice of pizza in my face and say, "You can't have this".
There should also be some sort of reroll mechanic too. I find aura and support skills to be far to niche to be useful.
Not to mention, and I could be wrong, but aura skills specifically state 'allies', implying the unit itself does not gain the bonus.
Yeah, the "allies" part makes it sound like "allies only". Unless, it's a translation issue.
