Some kind of re-development ? Any news from devs ?
My personal guess is that they most likely simply remaster AoD as it was, with new models and textures... But of course mine is just an educated guess. So let's hope they actually shall release all those things that at the time have been left unfinished... Personally I am interested in understanding if TR SCU will work as well as it does with the 'original' version of AoD. Did not find any info on the internet, though. Did not find any info at all about AoD Remaster, for that matter. Hence my 'educated guess' earlier.
Cheers,
Unfinished doesn't mean they don't have the story and ideas done, they just didn't have time to finished it, they have the engine and assets so it is not that difficult to finish.
If this would be easy the OG team would do it right the first time and now you have different team more than 20 years later looking at ancient code of broken and unfinished game, game that killed company that made it, so I don't think it is easy...
Aspyr did ok with TR remasters but Aspyr is not a Nightdive.
Hopefully it will be better than original TR6.
These people couldn't work on the original code at the time (which would have made things much easier for them), I don't expect them to do miracles (the plot with its holes will probably remain unchanged, unless among the material they were able to work with there are ready-made deleted scenes and delete dialogue), but fix most of the bugs and restore some things which at the time were not included due to lack of time (for example the double pistols) does not seem to me to be something so impossible.
It must be considered that they have been working on it for over a year (and probably even before the first remaster was announced).
Furthermore, people have a slightly distorted perception of Angel of Darkness because the PC version (especially the American one) gave countless problems but the PlayStation version was not so unstable (despite its bugs and problems).
In short, it seems to me that the myth of "Angel of Darkness completely broken and unplayable" has become a bit exaggerated over the years (perhaps also due to people who have never played it or have played its worst version).
I think AoD out of all of them had teh best music score. The grand orchestra is sublime. I sometimes put it on my USB speaker on bike rides.
