Demo Locks Out?
I have played 5 rounds on the demo and got 2 of the 3 achievements. Trying to play today I cannot start a new run. I have a message saying "Thanks for playing, you've reached the end of the demo. Use the button to wishlist the game on Steam"

Is there a way to reset so I can keep trying this out? Or am I now locked out til the game releases?

Hello, the demo is indeed limited to beating the boss 3 times, and the fact that you could achieve that in less than 20 rounds is quite impressive!

can only play potentially three times? kinda putting me off on the demo and i've been waiting long for this. not many games use tetris as a main mechanic for what seems to be a roguelike deckbuilder. almost want to throw just to play more

You can win three times, and play as much as you’d like until then. We figured with the publisher that it was for the best, three wins mean you’ve understood the game pretty well and we don’t want you to get bored with this limited selection of cards (there are only 21 out of 110 cards available in the demo!)

I've never really beaten the boss, i just survived it three times. That really doesn't feel like I've beaten it. I would really like to continue playing it, because I didn't know that and i only tried it on easy mode, because I thought I wanted to really beat it. Now im stuck here and it doesn't feel right with me.

that didnt stop people from putting in dozens of hours in balatro demo myself included. just playing the tetris portion for some would be plenty of fun. its the main reason i picked this up: tetris with style

Well you’re right, the UI makes you feel like you lost the battle, when in any other game, beating a boss counts as a win even if you lost HP in the process. Beating a boss without taking a hit would be called « perfect victory » or something. I’ll try to change the wording to make it better

Disappointed this wasn't called out when the demo was released. I would have tried different things instead of just constantly trying to beat the boss without trying new strategies etc. I avoided the river cards and buildings as an example so I don't know any of those mechanics since I thought I would have time to test those out later. My demo experience is basically just watchtower and farming.

Don't tell anyone I told you this, but you could, you know ... delete the save files (dig in the appdata > Local folder on your computer)

Isn't really much difference you get two victory pop up instead of one there isn't actually any achievements for winning by not just surviving, both seem to count forward beating the chapter.

But I haven't beaten the boss at all! I survived the boss but I haven't been able to beat it any time and I still got the message

Surviving the boss counts as winning in the game! The system is a bit confusing I guess, because enemies stay at the end, but just like in other games, if you end the combat with some HP left, you're the winner
