[Question] Fresh Troops Card?
Anybody want to explain what the "Fresh Troops" card actually does other than literally what it says. I can already buy troops are the market rate, why would I care. Or is this more like a negative buffer, i.e. if you go -10 health at the end of the round, it auto buys 11 so you don't "die"? If so, that def could be said way way better.

What it does is refilling health during the round rather than after, instantly whenever you've got enough gold. Useful if you want to trigger Raiding Camp more, or heal after placing the Military Hospital. Don't think the card is really great but it can be helpful sometimes if you're tight.

Also while I'm here and we are talking card clarity, you really need to deconflict the keyword "terrain" as it means different things on different cards and keywords shouldn't do that, i.e. it's not always clear if "wastes" or "fields" or "city" squares count as terrain when reading a card as it's different "terrain" keyword to terrain keyword.

Which cards are you thinking about and are you playing in English? Cause we clarified a bunch of cards, "Natural terrain" being the ones you encounter naturally (Plain, Forest, River, Mountain, Wasteland) and "Terrains" also adds the Neighborhood & Fields.

I had the same thought, so I never got the card. But I think it gives a discount if you upgrade it.
@Dev: Just a suggestion as I think many of these questions come up as the result of limited space on the card (and yeah I get the difficulty being concise for complex rules, look at CCGs), maybe on the mouseover / hover expand the tooltips beyond keyword definitions, i.e. "this is how the card works in long form".

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

@dev: I think people, myself included, don't or didn't realized "natural terrain" and "terrain" were different keywords as we see "terrain" in both. I'll make note of that the next time I play through.

Didn't think about the Raiding Camp thing, well I guess a niche exists so I withdraw my complaint lol.
Glad this thread exists, but sad I had to find it to know what the card does. Maybe instead of "Automatically spend the money earned during the round to..." it should read "During the round, automatically spend any money earned to..." to make it clear when the money is spent. When I first read the card I assumed it would heal after combat when totaling all the resources gained.
In the most ways i would distance the 2-Refiller's from another. One ist good for, if you are having enough gold alltime. The other may be for the obvious risk included, if your'e deck building with calculated losses. More difficult, but at some point even you shouldn't afford the refilled-by-gold card no longer. Good instant though, for when to know if you may drop a card at a certain level progress.
Fresh troops doesn't work at times when I think it should. If I go into combat with, say 20 of 70 maximum troops. During the round, I gain a large amount of gold, but it isn't spent to heal the missing troops. I assume this is the intended behaviour but to me it makes no sense, given the description text on the card. There are a few cards that after many hours of gameplay are still a bit confusing to me, this is the worst one.
