OMSI 2

Please help...
I've had this game for a while now but always played it for fun and never done any actual routes with passengers...
I know how to set a route up though I think as I have read the manual, I downloaded the Hertfordshire V3 map mod but can't figure it out.
I get the time table up but when it comes to setting the bus up and displaying the number and route on the front of the bus it goes pear shaped! I bring the little menu up and press on route, choose line number but the terminus is never in the list to choose from!

So for example: I want to go from Hatfield Gallaria (a) on line 300 (tour is WGC011) to Stevenage... I press ok for the timetable to pop up then click on the [92E] box in the side menu and choose line 300 but Stevenage is nowhere to be seen when I want to choose the terminus.

Am I doing something wrong here?
Would really appreciate any help anybody could offer, it's so frustrating !!

you should start a route with the main game, not with modded content.

Mods often dont contain all the settings for all buses or IBISes. So you have to integrate the correct files in the correct bus folder to make it work.

So you should drive routes first with the main game and the main busses first.

So, basically you have to have the correct .hof file (from the map) in the correct bus folder. And of course choose the right data when you spawn the bus.

Even though I've had this game a while I'm a complete noob to it :)

I think the problem is the depot, when spawning a bus I can't select this map on the depot list... So when it comes to choosing my route the terminus won't show up.

So it maybe just a glitch on the mod, not sure.

If you look in the vehicles folder in the OMSI main folder, there should be a folder saying 'copy the contents of this folder...' This contains a HOF file, which you can put in any bus you want to run. (This is only for Hertfordshire, other maps you will have to look around in your vehicles folder).

Many thanks for this info. I've just bought the game and wondered why some maps weren't available for some buses

I'd downloaded a UK map and some UK buses

best map is the Grundorf map -base game. It has only one line, so you can't go wrong -or it's easier to sort out lol.
start OMSI 2,
Select Grundorf load with no buses,
select MAN SD200 for your bus,
then at the bottom (depot) select Grundorf.
(once it's spawned)
F1 in bus,
start it E (wait till jingle ends) followed by M (hold till it fires)
-bottom right -(Press Alt brings it up if not there)In this case, you’ll need to select Line 76 , and then tour 1. On the
Grundorf tutorial map, this is the only line, and besides your bus, only
one other bus will be active. Beneath the selection you’ll find a slider
which – after you’ve selected a line and a tour - automatically shows
the next departure of that tour. In this case, the departure time should
be 10:07. If you move the slider back and forth, you’ll notice that the
buses depart the Nordspitze Bauernhof stop at 07 and 37 minutes
after the hour. Select 10:07 and click on “OK”. You’ll see another
information window click 'OK' to cancel the AI bus that would otherwise follow you or you do it's route.
Press 'Insert' and you will see your timetable
The header states the route, destination, and circuit number. Below
that you’ll see the departure times for the relevant bus stops.
Your next task is to inform potential passengers which route you’re
driving. Open the menu and click on „Set terminus“ (92E Button) to open the
“Set Line and Terminus” dialogue. Enter “76”, select “Krankenhaus”
from the list and click on “OK”. Switch to the external view [F3] and
verify that the route and destination appear correctly (remember you
can pan the camera around by pressing the mouse wheel)
Drive to the first stop, set the bus stop brake [Num -] and then open the
front doors with [Num /] and [Num *].
While the passengers are getting on the bus, it could happen that one
of them still needs to buy a ticket. Press [T] to hand over a ticket and, if
necessary, press [Ctrl]+[T] to give change. Then click on all the bills and/
or coins with which the passenger has paid. Don’t get upset if some of
the passengers are impatient – they don’t know it’s your first day.
When you’re ready to go, shut the doors again ([Num /] and [Num *])
and release the bus stop brake [Num -]. As long as you don’t brake at
this point, the bus will continue forward.
To orient yourself on your new route, you can turn on the guide by
opening the menu and then clicking on the '? Arrow right' button which will highlight your route

When passengers want to get off at another stop, the yellow stop
request light will light up on the dash. Stop at the next bus stop and
set the bus stop brake [Num -]. The rear door will open automatically.
After the last guest has exited the bus, the door will close automatically. Then you’ll just need to release the brake [Num -] and continue
driving

When you reach the end of the line at the Krankenhaus stop and open
the doors, you’ll see a report of your timekeeping at all stops

Go to the IBIS (bus computer) Select the button

Thank you for the info. :)

I'm getting to understand the game more and some new buses I used, I had to press the brake pedal down in order for the drive gear to engage.
Bobby Nov 6, 2023 @ 8:53am
some buses require you to hold brake pedal, select N or D, then release handbrake, THEN release footbrake. Same as stops; handbrake, footbrake then release and drive.

You will find more about the buses in the base game and all info etc in the OMSI 2>Docs folder. Select the language of the Spandau manual and enjoy. That's where i learned OMSI 2 and Grundorf ;)

Thank you. I have seen various things with the game and am learning all the time. It makes sense and I think some buses I downloaded don't show the route number or the route destination.

:)

That's sometimes either incorrect Depot (Hof file) or unsupported display ie Dot Matrix,LED,Roller. have a look and join Fellowsfilm[fellowsfilm.com] You will get a TON of stuff there

I've joined that one. I think the issue is I downloaded some MODS years ago and installed them and think they might have been updated since then. Thanks for the confirmation about Fellowsfilm though, I have seen others but they don't seem to be updating much.

I downloaded the London Project from other websites and none worked but the one on Fellowsfilm loaded straight away fine!!! :D

Yes, the biggest issue with maps is if they get corrupted or you have game issues and you do a verification of steam, it wont't fix mods that you've installed. So it's a complete uninstall and folder delete then install. You can keep your driver file and saved routes etc. But what i did was backup the entire OMSI2 folder -properties and backup. That way i have a complete working game. It will still verify the game when you play OMSI as it still keeps your original game.

So with that i wont download any more maps. I found that the hard way...Which is why i tend to stick to steam DLC as it's one touch uninstall/install etc.

My OMSI 2 dir is 79.08GB...

The official London DLC is amazing. 16 routes and absolute hours of driving Coupled with https://www.studiopolygon.co.uk/400mmc is as real as it gets
