4GB patch no longer working

Like the title says.
It used to work completely fine, but then I took a break from games for a couple months and now it doesn't work most of the time. I verified the game files and repatched OMSI, but it's seemingly a coin toss on whether it will work or not. I have the texture memory limit set to 3GB.

Just earlier today OMSI crashed when ram usage was at around 1,9GB, with the last 3000-ish lines of the logfile being just not enough memory resources errors.

I came back from a break as well but it works fine for me. Maybe try reapplying the patch again and be sure you're applying it to the .exe application.

What is your GPU setting in OMSI2?
If you have 4GB or more of VRAM set it at 4096MB. I won’t utilise any more afaik. 32bit etc.
You don’t need to set texture limit usage in RAM, that’s what the 4GB is for.
If you have 16/32 or 64GB RAM in your system it will still *only* use 4GB (The patch increases it from 2GB to 4GB)

The 4 GB patch is absolutely necessary for playing big maps. But a few times after Steam updates it didn't work any more, so it was obviously overwritten by orgiinal datas. So I installed it again and have no probelms. If the game is still running too slow you can change some setiings: less cars, less parking cars, less humans ...

Does it say ‘patched’ when you apply it?

Be sure you 're not just dropping it in your main game directory for omsi 2. You have to drop it on the launcher (omsi.exe) file and go through the prompts. It will say something like "patched successfully" if you did it right.

Any time you download new DLC, verify game files, or Steam does an update to Omsi, you need to redo the 4gb patch.

If you did all of the above and it said it was successful and it still didn't work then you may need to verify file integrity. You will need to repatch after verification/repair is complete.

Or you just run the 4GB patch, browse to Omsi 2.exe and click apply.
Btw, this works on other games that are 32bit 2GB RAM limited. ie Steel Fury: Kharkov 1942

I tried verifying OMSI, reapplied the patch and it just crashed at 1481 MB RAM usage with a popup saying "Zu wenig Arbeitsspeicher" (Not enough RAM).

What are you referring too. RAM or VRAM
