How to move the bus in OMSI 2 London
I am a noob at OMSI 2 and I am also sorry if I am here clustering up the forums with junk like this but I really need help I will even show my key binds just so I can in-depth on how to move a bus. Please if you want, can DM me on discord: CraftTocher97#6978 Other than that I just need help with playing the game which is essentially being a bus driver.

Depends on the bus. Mostly it's just turn on electronics (press e), then start the engine (not sure what the default is). Switch to D gear, turn parking brake off and then you can go.

Default key for engine is M.

Also ..... when first moving off, if bus is in neutral (N), some buses require you to keep your foot on the brake (default is the full-stop on keyboard) while selecting drive mode (D). But Omsi being the schizophrenic thing we've come to love (???), sometimes it takes a couple of tries before this works. It's worth noting where the D, N, and R (Reverse) indicators are on the dashboard, so you can verify you're actually in-gear, and which mode it is.

Hope this helps, and don't apologise for asking 'noobie' questions. That's how we all learn. Welcome to the wacky world of Omsi. :steamhappy:

if you are using the default london busses-

press E - you will get the pressure ok message
press M - you will hear a high pitch note
press M again- that fires up the engine

the bus will be in neutral gear with handbrake on.

put bus in drive
release handbrake
accelerate

Your comment has been the most useful so far but I still don't know what to press when it comes to...

Putting the bus on drive
Releasing the handbrake
and accelerating.

So please assist me with those questions.

after you have started the engine-
depress footbrake pedal and hold. then press N to put gear into neutral. release footbrake
press D to put gear into drive
press . (full stop) to release handbrake
press gas pedal

you can see all the keyboard assignments by pressing Esc, then select Options, Keyboard

there is a manual for the London addon which is located in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\OMSI 2\Addons\London

HAL I feel like I have gotten really close now but I still can't move the bus and at most all, I hear is the engine rev up when I try to move it so your steps have worked but not enough and I know you have given me the best of help but I don't think I will ever be able to drive a bus in omsi 2. I am disappointed that I might have wasted 50 pounds on this game.

if you can rev the engine then there can only be two reasons that would prevent you from moving - either the handbrake is still engaged or you are not in drive

try it this way-
when you are seated scroll down and you will see the D,N & R buttons. just below those is the handbrake. (scroll by pressing and holding the wheel of the mouse and then move the mouse around)

ensure the bus is in drive by first depressing and holding the brake pedal fully down and clicking on the N button. take your foot off the brake pedal and click on the D button. you should see it slightly depress and hold. it should not be flashing. then release the handbrake by clicking and holding on the handbrake and pushing it forward to "OFF" now when you press the accelerator pedal the bus should move

Thank you so much. I have finally found out how to move my bus in omsi 2 and if I even need to remember how to do it I will ask you. Thanks!

Ok I know I have finally managed to figure out how to move a bus but how do you turn off the stupid wipers since once I turn it on it can't be turned off witch is annoying?
HAL Mar 31, 2023 @ 12:46pm
HoToch - sorry i deleted your friends request, it was only later i realised it was you rather than a random unknown. i have sent you a friends request if you still want

I figure it out anyways. Thanks!

Now here's the real question before I let this thread die. How do more the bus backward as in reverse the bus?
HAL Mar 31, 2023 @ 6:40pm
there wasn't a reply when i started the post. anyway i've deleted it now if it makes you feel better
HAL Apr 1, 2023 @ 4:22am
the only person looking stupid is you making such a fuss over nothing. i've had the same thing happen but i just assumed the person hadn't read my post and forgot about it. why make a drama out of f all unless it bothered you??
