Do I get a steam key for the O305 addon?

I noticed the O305 addon is now on steam, is there a place I can get a steam key?

If you buy it through Steam Shop, you don't need a key as it will be registried to your Account after you buy it.

But I already own it on Aerosoft, that's why I'm looking for a key. Wouldn't you think that someone with probably 40+ games on their account would know how steam works, wouldn't you? Sorry if that came out rude, I just waited most of the day for a mr. bean answer and I've been waiting for an entire day trying to make a decision between what games to buy and now that I've finally made that decision I need to wait for about 30 minutes for it to download.

You can try activating this addon if you click on "Games" in the menu bar then click on "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library..." but I dont think it will work because the key is for the installation to make sure you have a legit copy of the addon.

The correct thing to do is press on add a game and then activate a product on steam and then enter your code so it actually registers as a piece of DLC instead of a separate game because adding a non-steam game to your library IS NOT POSSIBLE WITH A SERIAL KEY. And also the serial key from aerosoft is not automatically generated as a steam key so I can't do that. God, it's like getting emails from an automated support system.

It would be only Aerosoft that can give you a Steam key to activate the DLC. You think they are willing to give away a free key? Take a chance and ask them ;)

I also have the game bought on Aerosoft website. You just have to activate OMSI 2 trough the Aerosoft Launcher. After that you can install the O305. If you download the OMSI 2 version then it will automatically be installed in steam folder!

If the following paragraph is clearly stated on Aerosoft product pages for the product on Aerosoft you are buying:

"Note: We provide a serial number with the purchase of this download version. Afterwards, you need to download this add-on via Steam and activate it. This requires a Steam account."

Then you get a Steamkey for certain products bought via Aerosoft. In other cases not.
As far as I know this is only avaiable for TS2014 pourchases.

So honestly, no, you can't get a steam key for O305 unless if you bought it at Steam (and in that case no key is needed!)

Unfortunate. Also, actually, if you buy it on steam a single-use key is infact required but is usually instantly and automatically entered upon buying the game.

I think the question should be.. is Aerosoft going to provide steam keys for those that purchased the 305 so they can then activate their purchase through steam.. They could give a key and then nullify the aerosoft key.

There are plenty of companies that give steam keys to people after the game/addon ends up on steam.

I also think that not providing steam activation for those that already bought it at the site would be a terrible idea seeing how a steam verify hoses all the DLC that is installed outside of Steam without backing up a bunch of files..
