Here in Brazil, the 2 best maps we have are Estrela Dalva, with more than 100 different lines. And Map Village 5.5, which is to be upgraded to version 6.0.
Already buses, being for automatic change, I prefer mercedez, Jelcz, MAN and the QuadBus BRT2026 of Marcos Elias (search on youtube).
Here in Brazil we also like manual bus, which is very common here. Then you can go to http://omsi.viamep.com/. That on this site, you will find several maps and some of the best buses we use.
Hope this helps.
The maps I'd recommend are Project Stettin 4.0, Lemmental, Project BENS (Unfinished expanded and reworked Grundorf) and as far as I've heard, Städtedreieck is great, too, but I can't get it to work.
The best way to find them is usually to browse the OMSI Forum, but If you don't speak german this can lead to issues.
Unfortunately I can't provide links to the mods, as the OMSI Forum is currently under maintenance but feel free to hit me up anytime if you need help with the mods. It can get quite annoying sometimes
