OMSI 2
Should there be UK Map DLCs on OMSI 2 for the future after seeing the UK Bus Add-on on Steam
My Friend from Belfast has told me that his friend has made the first DLC UK Bus for OMSI 2 Coming Soon...

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1058180/OMSI_2_AddOn_Masterbus_Gen_3_Pack/?snr=1_16_16_&curator_clanid=5306295

I would want to see the DLC UK Maps like London for OMSI 2 on Steam in the future after seeing the Add-on for Gen 3 Pack and then I would be appreciated for it?

Agreed,..when I first saw this DLC mentioned on Steam a week or so ago my first thought was the the buses are right-hand drive but no right-hand drive map DLCs to drive them on so goodness knows what the developer here was thinking of.

Of course, there are those freeware maps available that would suit this new Bus DLC but not all of us, including myself want to get involved with freeware.

Therefore, this DLC will be useless to many OMSI drivers without the map DLCs to drive them on.

I am hoping so but for me whether it's with or without the map. We need more bus mods for OMSI 2 and I am glad to have this one in game! But who knows maybe the devs are working on a map for it too. I hope at least. Kind regards to you and to them and I wish you all the best.

Masterbus who are making these buses are working on a Bristol map. https://www.masterswitch-studios.com/BristolMap.html

Is Bristol going to be out for Steam?

There was an official London addon which was supposed to be published by Aerosoft. It came along with buses as well but the developer wasn't in the mood to work on it anymore and kept people waiting for 1-2 years without any updates. The map itself was worked on a lot too..

'don't want to get involved with freeware' - why? Is it because many freeware maps require external dependencies and thus have a less simple installation process?

For what it's worth, anything uploaded to Fellowsfilm has to have a foolproof readme and must have valid links to required dependencies, and are tested before they're allowed to be published on there.

However, some people can't even follow the most basic of instructions (like, some people can't even drag-drop a folder...), so many authors are looking at streamlined installation processes, such as custom installers. There are some freeware maps that are likely to be published on Steam by Aerosoft, as well (BotW3 and Cotterell update being examples).

In addition, if you have BCS, there are support tools in there to simplify the process also.

Well for me personally, I'm perfectly happy with all the payware DLC I have and it's nearly all of them. I have a life and don't play constantly and OMSI isn't my first love, it's X-Plane 11 and Train Simulator 2nd and that's where I spend most of my time which has its own fair share of it's freeware plugins and Utilities e,t,c, that I'm involved with so I have no desire to get bogged down even further with OMSI freeware. Well you did ask so now you know. :steamhappy:

What I'm trying to ask is what is it about freeware which makes it worthwhile for you to pay instead?

No disrespect to you but what the heck has it got to do with you how I Run my game??? I'm surprised at your over-reaction to this. I always put you down for one of the cooler members on here.

Look, all I said is that some of us don't want to bother with Freeware Mods. For those that do,..fine but I don't have to follow everyone else.

Everything is cool so chill out. :steamhappy:

Hey, Masterswitch founder here.

We've got plans for this, don't you worry. It may not be directly at release of the Gen 3 Pack, however, it will follow shortly after

There was no over-reaction, I was simply trying to ascertain what about freeware puts you off. Given I make freeware content, it would just be nice to figure out how to appeal to a wider audience.

Where on earth did I say that??? All I said in my first comment in reply to the OP is that some of us aren't bothered or interested in Frewware for whatever reason each individual has. I've already given you mine, (Post Above). I don't know what else you want from me!
