Or you could buy the "Bus Company Simulator" DLC
The nav map comes with it.
I also hope their 'customer care' has improved, as it was a joke before. It took weeks for them to create a 'fix', which worked great - for about 10-days (can you see a pattern here?). I contacted them again, only to be told that the guy who dealt with complaints didn't want to do it anymore, and there was no one else who knew how to fix the problem. Seriously ???
From what I could gather, the 'company' consists of two blokes and a dog (I think it's the dog who's the brains of the outfit). So, buy it if you want, Jonathan. I hope it works fine for you with no snags. But if you encounter a problem, good luck with getting a response from PeDePe.
I've had mine for about three years and have never had an issue with it. In those days you could only get it via the pedepe website. It does require the latest version of JAVA (64bit) for it to work though which will of course come shipped with the product.
I also own Bus Company Simulator which also has it's own version of the GPS map if you choose to use that. However, I rarely use BCS so the standalone OMNI Navigation suits me just fine.
And why you need 8gb ram for a navigation?
No it is the same, we just released it to Steam, too
Hey Biff,..
I remember you talking about the issues you were having with OMNI Navigation and I do remember reading your comments about it on the pedepe official forums.
I've just seen this comment posted by pedepe on the main Steam product page which is a reply to someone who just purchased it and was having issues. I'm going to paste it here as it might, just might, help you fix it.
Coment by pedepe.
Please make sure that you have installed the latest version, because OmniNavigation is only compatible with OMSI 2.3.004.
In this case you either have to update to the latest version of OMSI 2 via Steam or you can go into your OMSI 2 directory and start the "OMSI 2 Patch Changer.exe". There you can change the version to 2.3.004. After that, OmniNavigation should work correctly.
My gripe with PeDePe wasn't that their software was totally naff' - when it ran it was a great bit of kit. No, the problem was that having sold me the software they seemed totally incapable of handling any problems that customers had with it. I could say more, but I've said it all already on this forum, and on PeDePe's site. Perhaps in the early days they couldn't get their act together to have a proper customer-care section, or perhaps they were having 'internal disagreements' at that time? I don't know. All I can say is that MY experience with them was not good.
To be clear to everyone, though, I'm not trying to put you off from buying the software. We all know how schizophrenic OMSI can be, and if Omninav' works for you, then great. I'm merely recounting my own personal experience.
