That's fine, but it doesn't help me.
Keybinds suck. Would it kill these guys to add tool tips?
No clue what to do. Started the bus, but can't move it.

Bear in mind that Omsi is a very detailed simulation. It's great once you get used to it but there is a learning curve.

The operation of the default buses is pretty similar no matter which you have chosen. If you have the engine running then I assume you have already pressed E to turn the electrics on, then held M to start the bus up (or clicked the equivalent things on the dashboard). Bus must be in neutral (N) for it to start, also you have to go via neutral to switch from drive to reverse (and vice versa).

You may need to wait a minute or so for system pressure to build up before you move off, but all you need to do from there is press D to put the bus into Drive, then . (full stop/period) to release the handbrake. The cursor keys should then enable you to accelerate, brake and steer. Mouse control for these actions is actually OK, press O to use mouse controls. If it still won't move you may have pressed the bus stop brake (num keypad minus). You need to press that to open the doors (which are / and * on the num keypad.

Please don't take offense but your attitude comes across as somewhat negative. You will get more help with a positive approach. Yes Omsi can be difficult to get to grips with - I'm still learning new stuff after many hours in game - but I feel it is worth the effort. You will no doubt need help with other aspects of the game such as planning routes, using the Ibis machine and picking up passengers.

Stick with it and it will be worth it, ask if you get stuck with anything else and can't find the answers anywhere.

I will try your suggestions, and I thank you for it. But is it really too much to ask for to be taught how to move the bus? Anything else I could understand the curve, but making the damned thing move shouldn't be that hard.

I started Tutorial 1. I get to the status display window. It says shift+Z. It doesn't work.
I'm stuck.

For some reason this has changed to Shift+Y. Try that and you should be able to get on with the Tutorial.

Yes it’s because of a difference on German keyboards.

OK, that worked fine.
Next is 'please open the next stage of the status display'.
Again... what do I do?
My impression of this tutorial is not getting any better.

Shift+Y again. You have to do it 3 times in total to display all the information on the screen.

I've made some progress, but Tutorial II is much too long. It needs to be cut up into smaller segments. I've gotten pretty far along but ran into trouble. I don't want to start the entire Tutorial II to get back to the trouble spot.

I completely agree with you on the tutorial could be better, but OMSI 2 is from 2013 and the developer is currently busy with a new project, so I do not think there are much chances of the tutorial being updated or improved. So just try and get the best out of it.

You can also go check out some youtube videos of OMSI 2. I did that which also helped my understanding of how things work.

Yes I've watched some youtube videos. And maybe I've come to a point where I can skip the rest of tutorial 2.
I thank you guys for the help and patience.
By the way, the translations also suck. LOL. Why don't they consult with English speaking people when they do translations? Not specifically this game, but in general.

it is what it is, the game is far form perfect, but still the best bus simulator around, and with a good amount of freemodmaps, cant complain

Tutorial 3 makes no sense at all.
I give up. Maybe I'll try again sometime in the future.
