OMSI 2

Help how do I know my route so that I can type it in the IBIS?
Okay having serious trouble with this and it has annoyed me a lot.

For example my timetable is:

92E Spektefeld - mo-fri - 1-1

So I type in line: 09200 [correct]
Then I find Spektefeld on the ziel chart and type in it's ziel 172 [also correct]

Now I assumed as it says 1-1 on the time table this means that the route is ''01'' so I type in 01 and click enter and it says falsche route, then I type in ''11'' and it again says falsche route. I'm having real trouble trying to figure out how to know what route I am on can anyone help me please.

92E to Spektefeld is quite an unusual route. Im not even sure if its supported by OMSI, cause I cant find it in the lists of the manual.

But in gerneral: Look up the codes in the manual.

The Berlins-Spandau map also has a time function. That means lines and routes change through the years (like it was in reality). So its important on which date you play.

92E is definetly not 09200 (that woulds be 92) It has to be 09210.

When you progam a route into the IBIS, you dont have to put in the Ziel. That is only for situations, when you dont have a timetable route.

The IBIS has a system which is equal to reality.

You have to do 2 main steps:
1. put in the line
2. put in the route

Now:
to 1.: Lets say you want to put in the line 137 with the first route.
A: press "Linie" (Line)
B: press "1" "3" "7" "0" 0" The first three numbers always represent the line. The last two numbers are for special lines, like nightlines or schoollines. If you run the normal line they are always 00.
C: press: Eingabe

now the line should be set up

to 2.:
A: press "Route"
B: press "0" and "1" (the normal route is often 01 the way back 02 and so on / you find the route codes in the manual of the map)
C: press: Eingabe

Now the IBIS should be set up correctly.

The route is a part of the X10 Add-On. The original buses from this Add-On have an ALMEX-Printer instead of an IBIS. The codes are slightly different.

The buses from the main game dont fit automatically on Add-On Routes. The Add-Ons are made by various developers, which are not the developer of the main game. So you can only use the buses that come with the route for the route.

In general you can mod buses to work on other routes, but they have to have the correct .hof file.

When you choose the bus, you see the possible routes that already come with the bus. Of course you also have to choose the correct map on this screens, otherwise any IBIS or ALMEX wont work correctly.

If you are driving the 92E but can't find the IBIS codes from the manual you can access the HOF file itself and find out that way.

I assume you are in Berlin and are driving the 92E - I ask because the screenshots you have uploaded are from the Berlin X10 map.

To access the HOF file go to...

(C:) / Program Files (x86) / Steam / Steam Apps / common / OMSI 2

Then double click on the 'Vehicles' file and double click on one of the buses that operate that route - say, MAN_SD200.

Look for the HOF file that covers the period you are running in - say, Spandau 88 - and double click the file.

This should open up a file of information in Notepad.

The first list of names are the list of destinations that can be displayed by the buses.

The second list of names is a list of all the different bus stops in the game.

The third list - the one you want - is a list of all the various routes.

Scroll down until you get to 92E. It should look like...

==========================================================
92E
==========================================================

This is followed by all the options with a string of the bus stops served.

Each option is headed by the trip details. For example...

[infosystem_trip]
9203
URAT-STAD
81
92E

In that instance 9203 signifies that (in the IBIS) it is Route 03 that will set up the destination and IBIS.

URAT-STAD is the route - U Rathaus Spandau to Stadtgrenze.

81 is the destination code.

92E is the line number.

Scroll down until you find the route you want to run and make a note of the two digits that follow the 92 that you need to enter into the IBIS. In the example above it is 03.

Now start up OMSI and in the IBIS enter 09210 as the Line (for 92E) and 03 (or whatever) for the route.

That's it.

Ok thank you, I will test this out.....2more questions, how do I know which busses are meant for which addons and how did you know that ''E'' is 092''10'', what code would be for ''N'' ? Thanks for the help :)

As always: read the manual. Codes are bound to routes. So you always can find the codes for the route in the manual of the route.

The code for 92E can be found in the lists on the last pages of the manual of the base game (cause it comes with this Berlin route).

When you download a route it will come with some buses that will display the destinations for that route. If you want to run other buses on that route you can do so - you can run any bus on any route - but you need to copy the HOF file for the map you are running on into the bus that you want to run.

To do that you need to access the 'Vehicles' file (as I outlined in my first message, above); click on a bus that already has the HOF file you want. Copy that HOF file and paste it into the file of the bus you want to run.

Your second question - codes for the IBIS...

You enter the line code as five digits in the form xxxyy - where xxx is the line number (preceded by zeros if it has fewer than three digits) and yy is a variable code of two digits that produce prefixes and suffixes to the number and a few other displays.

Bear in mind that, because the 'number' display only has three tracks, if you want to use a prefix/suffix letter, you can only do so with one or two digit line numbers.

Assuming that you enter xxx as 092 (for line 92 variants) the different variations for the yy codes are as follows...

09201 = E92
09202 = a triangle
09203 = two children (to signify Schulbus [schoolbus])
09204 = 92N
09205 = S92
09206 = A92
09210 = 92E
09226 = U92
09228 = M92
09229 = BVG (Berliner Verkehrs Gesellschaft [Berlin Transport Company])
09230 = 92S
09231 = 92U
09232 = 92M
09235 = N92

Some other codes produce a few other odd variations. You can see them all by spawning a bus, entering each code in turn on the IBIS and then popping outside (F3) to look at the result.
