High end PC lag
hi i recently bought a pc with 16gb ram, nvidia rtx 2060,intel i7.
All these exceed the requirements but i still get alot of lag. I had the game on a lower end PC and it didnt lag as much! Is it my settings (they are real low atm) Any help welcome... thanks:steamhappy:

I went into the Nvidia control panel and under the program settings tab I set OMSI up so my GPU would do more of the work then my CPU and it made OMSI look fantastic and have very little lag now, I only stutter when it is loading AI now.

Hey, Hillboyz,

Can you please explain exactly what you changed (and how)? I'm having similar problems, not only with OMSI 2, but also with American Truck Driver.

Many thanks for any replies.

tbf, your lag could be to do with omsi's optimisation/stability anyways :steambored: because this has happened to me but yeah

Try 4GB patch.

@biffer

I opened nvidia control panel and...

under 'manage 3d settings' tab>program settings>omsi2
-power management mode--------'prefer maximum performance'
-texture filtering quality--------------'performance'

that was all i did in nvidia control panel
I also set omsi settings preset to vanhool-high setting and then reduced the map object complexity and set screen ratio to 1.55

Hope this helps let me know how it goes:steamhappy:

Try watching optimization videos on youtube too.

So in nVidia Control Panel, which ones in the list did you enable for the GPU??

I set Imagine Sharpening to On sharpen 0.50, ignore film grain 0.17 (default setting )
Anisotropic filtering 16x
Antialiasing - FXAA On
Antialiasing - Gramma correction On
Antialiasing -Mode Override any application setting
Antialiasing Setting 8x
Antialiasing - Transparency 8x (supersample)
Shader Cache On
Texture filtering - Anisotropic sample optimization On
Texture filtering - Negative LOD bias Clamp

All the other I left to use global settings. My game looks great now with no lag, except for when it is loading AI. My specs are Intel I7 -8700 @ 3.70Ghz, 16 GB Ram. Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 8GB

Thanks for that. Our PC specs are similar so I'll give that a try and see if I get some improvements.

Hey Hillboyz,

Well, I tried it, but can't say it made much difference (at least, not with American Truck Simulator - haven't tried it with OMSI yet). I guess it's an optimisation thing, so I'll check out that video you recommended and play around with the settings a bit. Cheers!
