OMSI 2

Hamburg HafenCity Volvo buses won't reverse?
I don't think I'm the only one having this exact problem. I wonder if anyone else is able to resolve it?
Both the solo and the articulated Volvo hybrid buses can't go reverse.
Their back-up lights are on, their engines roar, but they simply refuse to move backwards.
This is so annoying, since I can't even back them up out of the parking spaces in the Depot!
Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Until a fix is released, you could always disable collisions in the main settings screen of OMSI. At least that way if you find your bus boxed-in by other traffic or objects, you can literally drive straight through them. Not ideal, by any means, but better than being stuck. Hope this helps.

Definitely. Thank you for your input!

That's a pretty desparate solution, isn't it? But as long as I know I'm not the only one having this problem... I'm okay
Hey, I'm new to OMSI 2, and I saw some yt videos with people using the south london project dlc, is there any way I can get it as I don't think it is on steam?

Cheers

There was a south London demo but you can't get hold of it anymore.

Hi,..

Can I give some friendly advice,..I don't want to sound like a back-seat moderator or anyhting but it's disrespectful in terms of forum etiquette to gate-crash, or Hi-jack somebody else's thread when the subject totally derails the thread from the OP's question.

Next time, please start your own fresh thread.

Thanks.

I've just tried it and it does work.
Let the bus engines complete cut-off when bus is idle at a standstill. Press on footbrake then press 'N' for neutral and then 'R' for reverse, you all know that bit anyway, the engine will spool up, then release footbrake and accelerate to reverse. The revs need to kick in pretty high for reverse to start happening.

I've just spent ten minutes doing the same thing over and over again to test this out and it does seem to work that way. Turning handbrake on and off just before seems to affect the reverse but the way I explained above does the trick.

Thanks for the reply!

But there's just one problem -- given the 7900s are hybrids... if my battery is totally depleted, the engine won't completely cut off, so your solution may not work when the battery is dead.

BTW, do you think the 7900s really work this way, or it's a bug in the game? I'll be really pissed off if Volvo designs their buses this way... lol

But thank you very much! Also thanks for pointing out the forum etiquitte!

To be honest, I think you're probably correct in saying there's a bug in the game because like you, I also felt that despite the workaround in trying to get the thing to reverse the way I did just didn't seem right at all. There's nothing in the manual about reversing either.

I had no idea about the reversing issues until you mentioned it so thanks for bringing that to our attention.

As Stringbean said, you really should have started a new thread for your question, but since you've 'kissed' and made up, I hope no one will mind if I answer you here (?)

I've just checked that link, and it works for me. All I can suggest is that you try again, but be very careful which button you click. That site is one of those loaded with 'Download HERE' butons designed to mislead you into opening an advert. Check, and double-check, before clicking.

If it still doesn't work, well just Google 'OMSI, TSLP' and see what comes up. Can't really say more than that. Good luck!
