For bus types like these the door would be opened when the bus stop brake is engaged and the passenger presses the bell. As for the door switches some buses comes with a button(other than the red buttons for the doors) which when pressed while the bus stop brake is engaged can open the third door.
Also some buses like the ones that come with MAN generation addon they come with a customization feature that allows you to add the third button for the thirddoor (if there is only two or one). Other buses you have to engage the bus stop brake and then there is another button you press other than the main buttons for the doors that opens the third door.
If this doesn't work I am sorry maybe try reinstalling the addon.
I'm looking for the command in the list of the key mappings in game that I need to select to map the Num* key to it. :(
just to be clear, I'm talking about the bottom right red tipping switch on the dashboard of the O405G, as per the screenshot: https://flic.kr/p/2kD98gS
I have tried mapping with just about any door event that I could find, but still without any luck.
You should only need to press it once - when you set up your bus. If the switch is 'off', the third door will not open. If the switch is 'on' the third door will open if a passenger has requested it via the 'stop' bell - provided that you have the bus stop brake applied.
To me, therefore, it is not a problem that you cannot map the switch to a key on the keyboard or a button on a steering wheel, as you only need to set it once - when you set up the bus.
Need to try again, as it seems.

PD: 81 is the key on keyboard, in my case is number 3.
