Gauss Cannon
It's my small thought that is not really important atm considering ammount of bugfixing with other stuff but as huge fan of of Gauss in every game i'd like to see a little tweaking to it. I feel like projectile should be quite faster (and actually the fastest projectile) and redesigned estethicly, it really shouldn't be green for any reason. I'd like to see it be actual ballistic, yellow slug. Also looking how strong Mass Relays are in ratio of their size and fire rate GC could use even more damage and accuracy bonuses.

I have to agree the green plasma looking ball doesn't work at all for something that is suppoed to be a physical round. It feels like a lot of the art/effects from SD1 is shoehorned into wherever it can fit, with a few weapons just having really bad art or effects that don't work at all for them.

Most projectiles move way too slow.

I agree with this, for the space of a single Gauss cannon, you can feasibly fit anywere from 2-4 Mass Drivers. Mass Drivers have greater range, the potential for faster rates of fire, take considerably less power to fire, and do 2/3rds of the damage.

Sure the Gauss has a bigger punch, but a single 3000 damage slug is not nearly as powerful as a volley of 2-4 2000 damage slugs- Not to mention I thiink Mass Driver rounds move faster than Gauss rounds.

I also agree that the Gauss rounds should move a LOT faster, and probably shouldn't be a green plasma ball. Honestly, I'd have been satisfied with a yellow "mass driver" round, or even just a larger version of the mass driver round.

If i am not mistaken, a gauss gun is a weapon in which magnets are employed to accelerate a piece of metal or something to incredible speeds?

Requiring tremendous power, but also a physical projectile. While the projectile itself isn't explosive or anything (I think it's usually just a solid chunk of metal) the speed and kinetic energy it has is enough to essentially combust/explode anything it touches while it punches a hole straight through.

if it were to be more "realistic" it would be a near instantanious hit.. Not sure on the distances Stardrive 2 is dealing with in combat, but the projectiles are travelling in the league of 5000 m/s (18000 km/h or 11200 mp/h) I think it would be over before the frame can update on your screen...

Well i don't want to see it OP, estethics are main thing. But just the size for the sake of this weapon it could use pretty much all stats up other then fire rate to make it compareble to Mass Drivers.

Only trouble with having too fast a projectile is, they can clip through their targets. I'm not sure what the maximun projectile speed is for SD2 before issues arise. For SD1 there was significant issues over 4000 projectile speed.

But I'm not in disagreement with faster and maby a different color, if it's possible.
