You can use cheatengine to cheat if you really want to, like give yourself infinite points to pick attributes, more credits, whatever. Itll make it boring though.

Thats right Requiem, you can use cheat engine to find the race picks or the money, though i tend to avoid the money, even that makes it boring for me, i have the perfect race though. ;-)

I find the easiest way to cheat is to simply edit the XML files to give either myself, or certain things a bonus
Like changing the cost of the aeroponic farm and robot factory to 10 credits, makes the starting on planets much easier.
You can also give your preferred race extra traits bypassing the limit normally imposed by editing the race files.

How do you do that, what is the file path to the promise land of change??? I am down to the three races including myself and have only 1/4 of the galaxy under my control. How can I possibly stand against an enemy empire that is 3/4 the size of the galaxy??? I need to mod my way to success!!! Please explain how to do that???

The race files are located here: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\LocalLow\Zero Sum Games\StarDrive 2\CustomRaces

I can send you my race files if you like, they have all the race traits, except the ones i don't use (aka Sacrifice....i use creative, so its rather pointless) and the morale traits are not picked for the cybernetic race i have made.

yes it cheats badly. one enemy was pumping out 6-8 ship fleets very early game I destroyed 3 large fleets and they still had 8 ship fleets coming in. this is impossible takes time to build ships early game. the fleets had at least 2 large ships each.no way unless their production is higher than 20. and they had another race on their border which was agressor and very large cant tell me they were not fighting them too

no early game economy and production can achieve this

technically, it can if you edit the save file and edit your homeworld to give +50 per worker....all AI cheat, its the only way they can be challenging to us, if an AI becomes as good as us, is when its a true AI.

exactly, i fopund this to be true of every ai race, which then prompted me to build cutters and frigates literally as soon as i started every game, but withing a short time they came with bigger ships which meant that no matter what i did i couldnt prepare enough this occured literally with every game i started hence why i came to look for a soloution (cheating, like a money cheat or race cheat)

Is that path going through User/ normally a protected directory? I can't find the AppData directory.
