Stuck at Loading Screen Fix

If youre stuck on the loading screen at 0%, 1%, etc, you are missing files in your AppData/LocalLow/Zero Sum Games/Stardrive 2/ folder. You need to copy all of the files under the steam folder for SD2/SD2_Data (steam/steamapps/common/Stardrive 2/SD2_Data/ to the Stadrive2 folder under AppData. You will see some of the folders match up between the two folders. The missing folders are the issue.

You can view the error under output_log.txt under the Stardrive 2 folder under Steam.

i searched for %adddata%, and found other steam aps there but not stardrive2

You might also want to try just using the feature in Steam that lets you verify your local game cache if you haven't tried that already. That might repair/reinstall damaged or missing files.

At worst, you can also try reinstalling the game instead of mucking around with files in the background.

If you can't see these folders you have to view hidden folders (for windows 7):
Follow these steps to display hidden files and folders.
Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Under Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders, and then click OK

Deleting all files in the Appdata folder (User/Appdata/LocalLow/Zero Sum Games) and restarting worked for me. Will delete saved games.

the folder is a directory above appdata. not sure what locallow is about.

anyway punch this into your file browser for windows and it should come up. hidden or not.

Why should users have to adjust game files to get a game to work? I mean is it unreasonable to pay for games with the assumption that they'll work on install unless stated in the product description?

My game worked fine yesterday and now won't load past 2%.

Edit: Deleting everything out of the App data (the NON Steam one) worked for me.

It seems it doesnt work for linux. If I do it right. I moved all files from SD2 Data in the steam folder to ~/.config/unity3d/Zero Sum Games/StarDrive 2 (Ubuntu 14.04 x64, nVidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti, AMD Vishera 4350)

Still freezes at 33% loading screen

this might specific to certain linux distros. zero says hes working on it.
