This should give you most of the teir 3 traits, and you can deselect any you don't want. Unfortunately, you can only deselect traits and not add new ones, though the traits are named fairly logically, so you can modify them directly in the xml file as well ("ground" is ground combat and the tiers are 0, 1, 2). Also, this gives you cyborg (called cyber) which means you have to build citizens rather than breed them, which you may or may not want.
Putting this in is easy and also easy to undo.
Open the file locations at C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\Zero Sum Games\StarDrive 2\CustomRaces. Make a copy of the one you are going to edit and save it somewhere else. (If you edit the one in your steam folder, nothing will happen, but you can always use the ones there as a backup in case you want to undo it.)
In that folder, find the race file you want to edit (humans default, etc). If you've already made and saved a custom race, you can edit that one as well. Cut and paste everything in the traitslist above - make sure to overwrite the traits already there. If you have two traits in the same category, the game will crash.
You can use notepad/wordpad but make sure to resave as a .XML file, not as a .txt file. Alternatively you can download notepad++ (free) which is a bit easier.
To undo it, simply copy the backup you made back into this folder (overwriting the modified one) or copy the one from the steam folder.
One last side note: this does modify the entire race. So if you have the AI playing the same race as you, it'll have all the same benefits you do.
