Are there multipule endings? [SPOILERS]

I just finished the game and was assimilated, leaving everyone else curious about my disappearance. Was that it? I'm all for a dark ending, but so many games today have multiple endings and I feel like this was your typical "bad ending" for not completing the game fast enough or whatever. Is there a "good" ending where you get out of the mine alive, or is that it?

No, you always get that ending, no matter how well you played the game.

Even if you get all 4 gold trophies in the end, it will be the same.
I know this from experience.

Ending was kind of lame. :(
The game is so positive and lighthearted, that it should have a happy ending.

I was going to buy this, but i absolutely despise games that have a 'you die at the end' ending.

The sequal is due out for the Switch, and it looks like it might come up, and maybe not be so bad. They did say durring the anouncement that they ment to make this all part of the first game, so lets see what happens.
