Game will not launch

When I try to launch the game I get the following message. "Doubledragon.exe has stopped working" A problem caused the program to stop working correctly". I have verefied the game cache multipule times, I deleted the Doubledragon.exe as that seems to be the source of the error, verified game cache again, detects missing .exe, downloads the missing file, launch game and the same error. I have deleted the entire game and cleaned out it's regeistry entries. Downloaded the game again and still the exact same problem. I have tried launching the game as administrator to no evail and gone as far as to remove all inherited security permissions and yet I still get the error. Im running Windows 8.1

same here emptied appcache re-validated still wouldn't launch etc

But Then !!!!

in engine.ini file used

width=640
height=480
windowOption=1

worked for me.... :D

it only worked with that resolution, nothing higher..
