What's with the hate? Seriously?

Why does people here seem to hate this game so much? I didnt play the original but people seemed to like it. Now I see this one and people are acting like it worse. I mean, is it that bad or are people just mad that this one is $10 and the original was free. I want to buy but I'm confused on why people are so angry with this release o_O

It's an anti-hype sort of thing. They're just hating on it because Slenderman got so popular. They pretend it didn't deserve the hype, etc. Like it happens with pretty much anything that gets so popular. The original game had a lot of horrible clones which added to the misery.
I also think most of these "haters" haven't even realized this is the full version of Slender: The Eight Pages made by the same authors (and in corporation with the guys of marble hornets) and not just another cheap clone.

I honestly have no idea why people seem to hate it so badly...
The game is in fact fine if somewhat short, but it is great looking and has a great atmosphere, as well as adding a lot of cool stuff to the game wich the original did not.

It's mostly that there are so many Slender and Slender based games that it's become oversaturated.

Nothing wrong with slenderman its just that youtube is filled with ♥♥♥♥♥ lets players of these games.

This happened on GoG too. The game has like a 1.5/5 rating on there because people just spammed it with reviews like "Not good. Not old. Not a game" the day it released and downvoted the actual reviews to the bottom on the list. I'm pretty sure 90% of the negative reviews from this game came from people who didn't actually play it, or at least went into it wanting to hate it.

Well one of the reasons why the slender series has lots of hate is because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ slender ripoffs from other game devs (Don't get me wrong I enjoyed a short game like Slender's woods for ex.) & also popularity can sometimes ♥♥♥♥ up a lot of things too but that's just my opinion (When Slenderman was 1st introduced I didn't mind it at all until the other game devs ruined it for everyone to the point of I don't care anymore)

It isnt anything like that at all for me. I just dont want to spend 10 dollars on a game that claims to have a story, (but its paper thin) and is also more of a pain then the first was to play. The first you could at least walk around and get to your objective, in this slender man literaly will pop up out of no where because youre making progress. Its a stupid way to pad out the game.

I really want to play this with ease but for some reason I'm getting serious frame rate issues with the game even with low quality settings but the weird thing is that I can run big games fine with high quality. So I feel kind of screwed over.

Odd behavior for sure. The original was amazing and scared you with its simple game play. But it worked. This version is far better. The graphics are gorgeous and the music is original and really eerie. The atmosphere is amazing when you play it alone in the dark. And the scares are real. That's exactly why I bought it. I think they did a great job improving the original 8 Pages. My thinking is much of the hate is coming form the other knockoffs who tried to get on Steam but were rejjected by Steams lawyers. They did not have VSurge's approval because he has the rights to Slendy.

It does have the stupid repetitive puzzles that plague every horror game though, like collecting objects and turning valves, but so did Amnesia and Outlast so yeah it is weird that this one is being picked on.

It's a slender game, of course it's gonna be picked on. Remember when Haunted Memories beta released? Exactly.

I think ANY slender game that comes out will instantly get bad feedback because of all the crappy slender adaptations that have come out and even the good ones won't get a fair chance.

Don't feed too much into the over the top negative comments. I once participated in a thread where a player was bashing the hell out a particular game. As I was reading and replying, I noticed this player in particular was currently playing the game he dogged on and had 10+ hours invested in it. Sometimes I think people just need attention. lol
