Forest Fire Level - Very Poor Design...
The forest fire level is amazing in how poorly designed it is. At first it is creepy, but it quickly fails to be scarey at all as it becomes purely annoying due to being stupidly cheap. Apparently the developer needs to learn about something called Playtesting, which quickly reveals the flaws in this level...

I agree but I think the problem is something that is prevelent throughout the whole game.

The fact that you can easily die instantly from something that blind-sided you can make for a scarey experience...the first couple of times it hapens. The first time Slenderman grabs you and does whatever he does is unnerving and creepy, the twenty-seventh time is just annoying.

I'm reminded of the Saw games where the traps and enemies would at first cause me to be genuinely cautious and aprehensive about entering new locations but eventually this degraded to a feeling of 'crap, I've got to do this section again'.

You summed that up quite nicely! That's a very accurate description of what happens and how it feels to the player.

It's a cheap game, I'm not bothered really.

Not bothered and overall apathetic yet still interested and motivated enough to comment.

One might wonder why you'd take the time and effort?

Not to mention, they don't know how to design difficult levels so your vision is altered. I can't see a damn thing during the forest fire level. Plus, the whole "level" can be beaten in minutes. Run through the forest, go in the building, die, and realise there are no refunds.

Does anyone know how to complete it without taking fire damage? I'm going for the achievement and it doesn't seem possible.

I managed to get this one on accident. Try to remain at least two meters (approximately) away from ANY fires. Go down the most clear path that you can that does not have the cheap af falling-trees that then start burning obstacle.

For minimal rage, do it on easy.

Slenderman will make this difficult since he can teleport anywhere he damn pleases. That being the case, while carefully going through the level, note that you can look at slenderman while his tentacles are ensnaring you to avoid death. Also learned that one accidentally.

LoL I actually got it right after I posted this. Said screw it, finished the level while taking fire damage (as far as I can tell-- screen flickered with flames and there was burning noises) and somehow received the achievement. Thank you for the advice though!
