Dying to Slender Man after collecting 8/8 pages

I really need help! I have 1 last achievement to get and it's Fearless.

Now here's the problem, on Level 2: The Eight Pages, 3 times now I collect 8/8, wait exactly 10 seconds when Slender Man grabs me from the back, Lauren starts running as usual but then I get a Game Over screen!!!!!
I noticed the 2nd time that she automatically ran into Slender Man which is something I have never seen happen before. It seems like I can also control her running so I tried that the 3rd time I got 8/8 and I still died without even seeing Slender Man.

I don't know if my game is bugged or the game got updated with some new changes. Is this some updated difficulty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or what? Spent like 8 hours today doing this level. Would appreciate some insight into this because I'm at my wit's end and considering using cheats.

you could try to reinstall as that will fixed damaged files. i had to that with tales of zestiria because it started crashing.

I actually managed to beat it on my 4th try IIRC BARELY dodging Slender and surviving.

I think this was intended because I read some other people also had this issue. I'm just surprised how come there was no buzz about this thing.

Nice you managed to get all the achievements, I also found Fearless to be the most difficult achievements of them all because you had to do them in one sitting, the fun thing was that I even managed to do it without a single restart in 36 Min

I've been running into this problem myself. I didn't even know it was POSSIBLE to die to him after getting all the pages. I've beaten the level three times now to no avail. No matter how I try to sprint away from him I get caught.

4th time was the charm for me, so it definitely takes knowledge and patience. From what I understand this is an added difficulty thing and it doesn't happen in any of the lower difficulties.
I'm not sure what more to recommend other than be prepared to switch direction if you see him. If nothing works you can try looking around while running. If I remember correctly, during the final pages Slender can levitate quickly to you unless you look at him which triggers him to stop or slow down. So maybe that still applies during the final scene.

I finally got through it shortly after my last post. I believe that my problem was that I was actually holding down the sprint button to run while Lauren automatically runs on her own during that short segment. I think that her automatic run is somewhat faster than the manual run, so that may be why I was getting caught.
