This game is so overrated.

I don't exactly know what happened to my last thread about this, so I guess I will just upload it again?

This game has a "Very Positive" rating on Steam, are you ♥♥♥♥ing kidding me? This game is garbage. The story is trash, it's too short, and not very scary. If it were longer, and had a more interesting story, It wouldn't be so bad. Oh, and not to mention, it's too easy. The developers put very little effort into it, it's like "I want a Slender game with a story" so they just slapped together a few short chapters and fails at horror and said "Here you go!"

Like, I don't get how someone could like this game. It doesn't even deserve to be called an actual game, it should just be free to play or something. To me it looks like that stereotypical bad game that some 10 year old made, thinking it would be good.

And before you say "He doesn't even own the game", I have played the Xbox 360 version.

I get what you mean. It feels cheap, but keep in mind this game is a $10 indie horror title, released 5 years ago. This is also the studio's first game. Check out the next game they made "Valley". It is miles better in terms of production quality. It may not be scary now, but when it was released, it was incredible for what it was and for the time.

The Slenderman mythology is one of the most popular on the internet over the last decade. By default, any game featuring Slenderman is going to be popularly received due simply to its innate fandom and due to the fact that all Slender games are, more or less, terrible anyway. It doesn't really have much to live up to and it doesn't take much to please the fans.

But you're right, objectively, this isn't a very good horror game. In terms of narrative, scare-factor, and environmental design it falls well short.

It is what it is which was never going to be an amnesia or evil within. Its more a walking simulator with a poor attempt at jump scares. To make it worse the atmosphere just does not make up for it. Ive played worse like just recently hatman and far worse run rooms.

It was a great idea for a game but there's so many flaws to it.

I thought it was good until I actually played it myself but even so, it’s not terrible, just boring and not very replayable. I think the Genesis level is still the best part cause it’s a remake of the original Slender game which was good for what it was and a lot more fun than fnaf for instance. Also yeah I noticed it’s a lot easier except on Hardcore because it kills you if you take longer than like 30 seconds to find the last page.
