Can anyone explain what the deep booming noise is when you pick up the first page?

Its the sound of unrelenting doom coming. My guess is its just a sound cue that adds to the effect that The Slender Man has begun chasing you.

I meant like is there an actual lore reason to the sound? Example: It's slender man walking. It's slender man's sigma radiation going haywire. That kinda stuff.

Could be just a small spread of radiation or something from Slenderman, he is a paranormal entity after all... although it is more likely that it's just an ambience sound and put in to make the game scarier.

Slender (In lore) can control everything around him and also inflict stuff on his victims. That sound is basically "an aura" of Slenderman.
