Is the castle just completely useless?
I assume it’s a reference to something with the +1 scrap thing but can you just never move it? Since you can’t promote pawns and it costs two to make how would you have three rooks

yes it's basically useless. You can exploit this rule to get an easy triple kill as your cheat move, which is probably the best first cheat move

Yeah, the castle is immobile and has no real purpose aside from making Rooks do weird stuff and giving a good cheat move option.

Since there needs to be three towers (which means rooks) on the board for a castle to move, and since two of the four rooks have to be used to make said castle, there's no possible situation in which you can move the castle without cheating. It can be killed though- I had the Troll take it with one of his pawns at one point.

Also the scraps just are a silly statistic for the moment. Maybe in the future there'll be some sort of secret shop that you can buy stuff using the scraps to get, say, alternate color schemes for the game. Would be an interesting way of making them do a thing. But for now, they just... exist. Odds are low for them being used- they basically are just a silly inclusion.

i found an easy way to exploit the castle, there is another rule with the rook that makes rook eat ally pieces

instead of moving the pawns as a starting move, make the rook eat a lly pawn as a first move and then move right into the enemy pawn so you transform the enemy rook into a castle, do for both sides and then you got rid of one of the least used towers but most dangerous concidering that they can eat pawns

Does eating an ally with the tower really make it "more powerful", is there any difference?

Is there any way to see how many scraps I generated?

You can see the total amount of scraps every time you beat the Troll.
