ascension ending not working

ive been trying to get it for quite a while now (about 2 hours) however no matter what i do it doesnt seem to trigger,i ve tried getting 8 pawns to the end of the board wich dint work and i tried an method from an speedrun where you use gifts of knowledge to blow up the pawns but neither work if someone can explain how to get the ending better please help me

The gifts of knowledge method was patched out.
You have to get 8 of your own pawns to the end, so if you were using black pawns, that won't work.

if someone comes across this the strategy i used was using the king to prevent cheating as the troll cant cheat to get your king unless you cheat first or false acuse him
