Is this game broken/dead for anyone else?

I just finished my first story, and when I tried to publish, the game froze perpetually on "Loading."

I had to kill the process. Then I ran it again, went to a different portal, and selected "Read my stories" (or something like that). It froze again, but this time it said nothing; there was no UI at all. I was about to uninstall but curious if anyone is even playing this anymore and having these issues also.

I haven't had any issues like that whenever I pop in to read or write. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the game? It could also be a driver issue.

I finished on story. Couldn't view other people's stories without the game freezing. Couldn't enter again to write a new one.

I'm having the same issue. I can't access other people's stories, the game freezes whenever I try. I seem to still be able to write and save my own though.

I've been getting a lot of similar results; freezing, crashing, character bugging out, etc.

Same here. I discovered that the game only does this when Steam is in online mode. Go offline and you'll find that the game works just fine, save for the fact that you can't publish anything or read others' works. This is honestly super frustrating and I wish the developers would show this game some more love.

I just bought this game as a way to get back into creative writing since I had been out of it for a few years but always loved doing it. It's really disheartening since I wanted to go in and read what other people had written and gain some inspiration for my own. Hopefully these issues will be fixed sooner rather than later.

Most likely not. The developers seem to have little to no direct involvement in this game anymore.

Bump because developers need to seriously fix this issue. >> Managed to post two, but now it won't load anything once the portal picture enlarges. It just stays there and any form of a hud disappears...I WORKED SO HARD ON THE ONE TODAY!

Yeah. Just tried this out and wrote my first story but it locks up if I try to check my stories or read anything from other people. I've not tried contacting the developer yet to find out if they have either stopped supporting this, or if they are having issues of some kind. Has anyone else tried?

I haven't, simply because it's obvious they're no longer involved in this project.

I haven't tried yet but it's disappointing it's like this. (Honestly not sure how to contact the devs directly, I'm a bit technologically behind my generation quite a ways for a Millennial xD) It worked just fine for two story posts but then in the same session refused to do anything when opening a portal for the third, and has been like that since. :/

You'll notice it only does that when online. Something about the Steam workshop, I think. When you switch Steam to offline mode, the game works just fine, though you won't be able to read or post any stories.
