Fast money how??
Anyone figured how to earn money relatively fast? Or what works for them? I'm so broke..!! TvT
I have been selling extra resources, microbes, and random furniture, but it's not lucrative at all. Crops have been ok for me, but most of it usually goes to the main story quests and I have nothing left. Meteorites don't drop anything worthwhile and also take an obscenely long time to produce something.

Hey there, our Discord is blowing up with recommendations and people have been posting new user guides on this kind of stuff if you are interested in checking it out: https://discord.com/invite/gVxUqge9Xf

The answer is basically crops. grow hella crops. you will slowly make money doing questions and farming for mats, but quickest cash seems to be crops early to mid game.

Just came here to ask the same question. I sort of bottomed out and now i'm just sitting around waiting for money. The pacing seems a bit off to me tbh. Wish little side jobs paid a reasonable amount. One job I did gave me 36 bucks lol, like okay, not wasting time on that. Anyway, there really should be more than one way to make money.
Yeah, I agree, I wish there were more ways to make money in the game. I'm in the post-game now trying to decorate and repair stuff on the ship, and I still can't make enough money.

I've scaled up growing crops significantly, but it feels like it's still not enough. Also running into a separate issue of not being able to get enough soil to expand my farming operations haha

Thanks everyone! We'll be tuning and making some adjustments to try and hit that perfect balance so thanks for the feedback!

I came looking for answers about making money as well. I would love to see the notice board quests pay more, as someone else mentioned. It is soul-crushing when you give someone 14 of your very hard-won soil samples only to be given something like 30 credits -- not even enough to buy an energy drink (I don't think; I haven't checked their price in a while because the first time I did I realized it would be a very long time before I could afford them).

I was hanging onto my crops thinking I might unlock cooking and be able to make more money that way, but if selling them's the way to go, that's good to know.

Definitely sell your crops. You can keep some for eating to explore the planets, but building a lot of planters and selling what you grow is a great way to bring in income. You can always grow more so don't feel like you need to hoard everything. There is a kitchen, but it comes a little later so no need to struggle in the early game for it now. Xeno are unlocked on the 2nd planet and they will generate an item for you every day once they grown up too. These can help bring in a steady income too. Hope this helps.

It be kind of cool to get a weekly paycheck, not much maybe just a couple of hundred and it goes up based on your rank.

What I've been doing when I want an influx of credits is "farming" the lootables on the planet surface that don't require energy to pick up. They usually sell for 10 credits each and the only limitation in your ability to farm X amount in a day is in-game time.

Essentially after you unlock two checkpoints for a given planet, you land on the planet surface and just go back and forth between them: spawning in, checking for lootables, grabbing them quickly and running back to the ship before any enemies can get to you and travel to the other checkpoint. Unlike most farming games, going to a previous area during the same in-game day respawns everything :lunar2019grinningpig:

It can be tedious, but it is a no-energy cost method of generating credits (and sometimes it is a little fun dodging 6 enemies trying to get that last desert flower on the screen).

Crops and xeno drops have been making me $$$$$! I have almost all upgrades already just from those mainly.

I only have 4 xeno but their resources sell for a good amount especially after processing

this is what i was going to suggest. also the second planet has seaweed you can pick up that can be eaten to gain energy.

Once I got to the second planet and could make watering bots I slowly increased my pots and bots, I've about 15 bots now, and slowly filled with mostly ginger with fertiliser on them, it was a really good turn out slow but once I got it where I was harvesting some nearly every day it helped. I wasn't rolling in it but I got my upgrades and backpack up to level 3 and 2 zeno houses before I went to the third planet. Now the third planet has been bank for me, tomatoes are ace especially once you unlock a few processing machines on the end of quarter. take your time and make sure to do the things to increase your captain level.

I find it odd that you are a captain of a corporate vessel...and you don't get paid.
Loosen the tight grip on the economy by having a salary concept based on rank, milestones, or something. Then balance and offset with crop sales. As it is right now, it's too bloody tight.
Keeper Of Monsters Jul 10, 2024 @ 10:44pm
I don't see any mentions of corporation anywhere...
Space Alliance might be just a loosely built conglomerate of individual entrepreneurs, or just a political figure.
And anyway - they do send you some rewards when you achieve some milestones / ranks.

It's not much but I tend to sell ome of the drops from the Xenos I raise. I got three of the stone bugs and my boxes are overflowing with graphite bars, even if I convert some into carbon tubes every day.
I get 20 for each and I have some other spares from the other xeno species as well.
Else I am selling microbes, I get microbe hunting missions about twice the week, and what I don't compost or recycle just gets sold. (Museeum microbe-collection is complete already. After catching about 80% I found the option to turn the minigame off in the settings ^^')
