Apparently, you think it’s crazy for someone to want the third Soul Reaver game in the SOUL REAVER SERIES remaster, but I don’t. Seems pretty obvious to me.
And since they dont know how well its going to do they probably didnt want to go all in.
hope to get Blood Omen 2 and Defiance after this.
I'm hoping defiance will come later though, like the Tombraider and Metal Gear remasters, sets of releases. I would like Defiance remastered though because of the Awkward camera, if they can fix that and update the textures, that would be great.
Also, they may just do for a small price just defiance as the third raziel game and leave Blood omen 1 &2 for either never or together.
Remember, vote with your wallets. They redid TR and a new game is coming. If we want the final story part of LOK then show them the money
I'm hoping renewed interest gets Kain a sequel and gives him a chance to actually change his fate.
Then there's the fact the team that worked on Blood Omen 2 had pretty much nothing to do with the other games in the series, except for some kind of common art style, they basically did their own thing and left Amy Hennig to deal with all the loose ends they created with the story they wanted to tell. She did the best she could, and even if what we ended up with isn't perfect by any means, you have to praise her ability to deal with that, just rolling with it and trying to actually incorporate what the "B-team" came up with in BO2 into both Soul Reaver 2 and (especially) Defiance.
There's also the gameplay element, Blood Omen 2 doesn't really play a lot like Soul Reaver, and while it could be argued it actually plays the best out of all of the pre-Defiance LoK titles, at the time it just didn't feel "right" (I remember playing it on the Gamecube, back in the day, coming out of Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2, and feeling absolutely uninterested by it). And while Soul Reaver 2 looked downright gorgeous and impressive, for its time, when it was released, Blood Omen 2 looked like yet another game of its generation, nothing more, nothing less.
But going back to my initial point, despite all of the other valid reasons why one wouldn't care much about Blood Omen 2, it's just still mainly because Soul Reaver was just so much popular than Blood Omen and reached a way wider audience. While Soul Reaver kind of became a paragon of PS1 gaming, people just forgot about Blood Omen -- if they even knew about it, to begin with. I'm not trying to discuss whether that's fair or not, whether Blood Omen is actually the better game out of the two (personally, I don't think it is), just stating that Soul Reaver was the entry point into the series for most of the fans, and that it basically kickstarted the series. A series that would've probably gone nowhere if we had to wait for freaking Silicon Knights to actually develop a single sequel to one of their "brilliant" games. Does it suck? Yeah, for Kain fans, for Blood Omen fans, it does. To the rest of us, not really.
Agreed! To most people I know who like the series it's all about Raziel and Soul Reaver much more than it is about Kain and BO.
That said, I did love BO2 and would love to see it remastered but Soul Reaver is on another level.
If this sells well I think another collection with those two games would be very likely. I'd love that, hopefully this time with a free camera for Defiance.
Maybe with blood omen 1 and 2 combo pack.
But I agree it SHOULD be in this collection.
