Have to tinker with the ENB as alternative.
That went down the toilet in this one...like with the latest Oddworld games.
But which models are you referring to? are they Melchian, Zephon, Rahab and Dumah? Cause I don't see this cartoony in Raziel and Kain's models, to me they look like they were made to match the CGIs. I'm not criticizing your opinion, my doubt is sincere.
They had a great sharp, sinister and dark style. Not in a sense of high res, but atmospherical delivery. You could sense the despair and hopelesness.
This "remaster" feels so soft. Bright colours and generic feeling models made from wax or kneading dough.
When I take a look at the original enemies, brothers, etc for example...they still give me the creeps. The new ones don't. Not even a little. Melchiah looks ridiculous.
Looking at this must have been how Raziel felt after he got thrown into the lake of the dead. Not really, but a truly missed opportunity to build up upon the orig artstyle.
They have taken away the authenticity and put the "accessible" mark onto this games...
Understandable why they might think they don't need artists considering they just copy other peoples already completed artwork.
But for remasters the results say otherwise.
Seeing and attempting to copy is one thing.
Understanding and improving is very different.
