You might have a point to some extent, but saying that nothing has changed is incorrect. Regardless of whether the changes are useful or not, something did change. We got the ability to explore the new map in menu (which I assume is meant to help new players), as well as the compass in SR1 (which again, was likely designed to assist new and returning players). We got the Day & Night cycle. We also got cut content that, while it has no direct impact on the main game, serves as a nice treat for people who wanted to see what the developers originally planned.
As for SR2, it admittedly didn’t receive as much as SR1. If those words were used strictly in the context of SR2, then I’d agree. But as a general statement? Not really...
Besides, what’s even the point of this all? It’s a remaster, it’s supposed to behave like the original. If they started making substantial gameplay changes, then it would have to carry the title of a remake...
From what I’ve seen on Kickstarter (updates about Novel), it seems like there’s a planned update for the Soul Reaver Remaster. Whether it’ll include bug fixes as well? Who know....time will tell. To be honest, I must have been pretty lucky because I didn’t encounter the night cycle often, and I managed to get through the Cathedral with the help of the Spectral Realm
Oh...and thank you for speaking your opinion in a reasonable way.
As for the cut content and Lost Levels....that has been widely available for 25 years via Ben Lincoln's website. He was the fan who discovered them through the PC and PS 1 and 2 discs. All fans from back then are overly familiar with the content.. They can still go to his website now to see it....that's where they nabbed it from after all. The cut content would be entirely irrelevant to a new player So, I can't really agree with you at all there. Plus, the outtakes and voice recording sessions from the PS2 SR2 discs had more content in terms of the actors.
this thread is beyond failure. All those words...and one jester. Not only cant you make a point...but you cant even make flame farm thread.
