SR2 bug: Purple void in the light forge

I have just got through a tough encounter at the light forge, got in, shot a thing that turned the door into the passable gates in spirit realm. So i went there, and after dealing with the enemies, i just felt in somewhere.
At least i got a pretty hard flying achievement out of it, but this means replaying that hard segment again.

I just got the same bug. So now I have to redo the entire section again. This wouldn't be an issue if the game had more save spots or at least a way to save anywhere like the first game.
