I have the same bug, it's a bug that was already in the original version. Just didn't get addressed for the remaster

They won't lock into place without being in the correct place. All the block puzzles in the Silent Cathedral are like that. I have been through the Cathedral about 5 times recently. The puzzles work if you solve them correctly.

someone didn't pay attention to the shapes of the holes

No no, they are not crazy. I've done the puzzle correctly many times before and I did soft lock the cathedral a few times.
On my first Remastered attempt I actually had the opposite issue than OP. The puzzle did indeed ''click'', the cutscene played, but the glass didn't shatter, so I soft-locked.

There's also some areas that didn't render properly or whatever and I fell through, which legit corrupted that save file.

SR1 requires a bit of polish. It's fantastic as a remaster in terms of QoL and graphics but, some bug-fixing wouldn't hurt.

I got one box stuck in the center of the room. You can't push or pull it. I had to load and replay the level.

The blocks got stuck in the middle of the room, they became unmoveable before I could finish the puzzle

Yeah, happened with the last one here. Shame that the debug menu doesn't have a noclip function, only "fly around with collision on"...

The bells, the bells. They break the glass. The pipes are plumbing for transportation

That’s the exact bug i had. Which did made me restart the entire game. Only saving before making the 1st move
