Thanks for demonstrating this, I'd heard people talk about it but hadn't seen it. Do we know if this existed in the original game? Did they used to stack?

My guess is this is just a matter of streaming, where the bottom area isn't fully loaded when up by the higher boxes. When you drop them down, the collision for the lower boxes doesn't exist so they can clip into each other. Just speculation but if that's the case and it was present before, might be an engine limitation.

There shouldn't be any bugs from the old game in this one unless they were left in intentionally or are something new.
They basically built the game up again from scratch so everything is essentially "new" so no bugs from the old code should really exist.

Still pretty sure they said they had access to the source code along with an extensive archive. Where is the information from, that they had to rebuild the game? Am I misinformed?

TBH I don't know. I played SR1 multiple times and this is the first time i forgot to bring the top boxes down :)
Once I'm done with the remastered versions I'll speed run to the Oracle's Cave and check. IF i can make old SR1 run on W11 :P

I'm in the same situation, I don't want to start the game again. Is there any solution?

You need to load the save before this happened. I dont know any other fixes.

I think that's another problem I have, I don't have a previous save point. Can steam save specific save points?

There is only manual saving in SR1 and 2

Man, getting this far into the game only for it to bug out, this needs a fix.
I'm glad I didn't encounter this one, it absolutely would've ruined my day.

I did and after 10 hours of playing there is no way of moving forward. The blocks are just gone.
This just happened to me, and I am incredibly disappointed.

Do we know if Aspyr or anyone else is acknowledging this? According to Reddit, multiple people have reported it.
Does anyone know if CD/Saber/Aspyr are working on a patch for some of these issues?
I really don't want to start SR1 all over again as I did indeed make the mistake of soft-locking the game.
