My guess is this is just a matter of streaming, where the bottom area isn't fully loaded when up by the higher boxes. When you drop them down, the collision for the lower boxes doesn't exist so they can clip into each other. Just speculation but if that's the case and it was present before, might be an engine limitation.
There shouldn't be any bugs from the old game in this one unless they were left in intentionally or are something new.
They basically built the game up again from scratch so everything is essentially "new" so no bugs from the old code should really exist.
TBH I don't know. I played SR1 multiple times and this is the first time i forgot to bring the top boxes down :)
Once I'm done with the remastered versions I'll speed run to the Oracle's Cave and check. IF i can make old SR1 run on W11 :P
I'm glad I didn't encounter this one, it absolutely would've ruined my day.
Do we know if Aspyr or anyone else is acknowledging this? According to Reddit, multiple people have reported it.
I really don't want to start SR1 all over again as I did indeed make the mistake of soft-locking the game.
