And if you find the CD version somewhere, it on the other hand requires to manually patch it to be able to run, then to download ̶p̶i̶r̶a̶t̶e̶d̶ patched video files in RAD video format, download a .dll to play them, patch the .exe to have a somewhat proper rendering on 16:9 etc. etc. ... sure, been there, done that, played, was happy, but honestly it's not worth the hassle
why do you think i mentioned it ;)
some people REALLY should do their own research BEFORE calling people out ;)
LOL
I've got the originals right here on Steam. SR1 won't even run well. I forget the reasons now but I tried getting both games running a couple months ago out of curiosity (and I'm good with PCGAMINGWIKI and getting old games running). And I barely got SR2 running before but now it won't run again.
SNEAK is working fine for me BTW.
I think you mean "remastered" not "recompiled" as compiling refers to converting code into machine language.
Sure, you can find global keys on third-party sites...
though mostly somewhere in the $25-100 price range for just SR1 (as if the low supply was actually driving up the prices, who would have expected that)...
Any long time fan has already bought the originals, some of us even more than once, so the money factor is irrelevant to us – we simply want to support our beloved franchise anyway and most of us are happy with what we got, because we didn't have wrong expectiations.
For anyone new to the franchise saving up some money might not be enough of a recompensate for the pain in the ass caused by the work required to simply run the originals in a comfortable manner on PC (unless you emulate, but again, this requires either pirating or getting hold of the original disks that won't be cheap anymore, being a collectors' item).
