The OG statue is what we got so if he can't be faithful to the OG why should his opinion hold weight?
Then there's the occasional person who might genuinely care about some of the various external issues or trends that might negatively impact the final game and are hoping to spread awareness....emphasis on "hope".
Then there's me, disappointed with the AI uprezzed textures, some of the wonky looking new models, wrong lighting and lack of proper shadders ruining the mood.....and of course the knowledge that if I and half a million more people could petition and wait patiently for Halo 3 to release on PC while everyone else laughed, then we can also wait for a cinematic level remaster of Soul Reaver, be it official or fan made...or something like Saber's remaster of Halo 2, that would work too :D
And don't be sad, don't let anyone ruin your enjoyment, not even my jaded nitpicking :P
So I was curious, since you mentioned the original artist. Was Rahab's design in this remaster what they were supposed to go with? I can 100% see that, so long as they maybe fix his head so that it looks less melon-like and more like how it did in the beta. I can see why they left it out in the original because those eyes would've blended in too much with his skin until they figured out the lighting situation.
Well I said to block the anti woke hate grifters. But if blocking me makes you happy, then by all means, do that.
Hell, things that are called "woke" these days, have been in media for almost 60 years. Uhura was in Star Trek in 1965/1966, making her the first African American woman to star in a lead role on television. The kind of thing that people insist is woke these days, has been something that people have been proud to see since the 60s.
(It's now I realise that it's the LoK forums, not the tales of the shire ones, and the people moaning here weren't moaning about black people, they were moaning about a statue... Sigh...)
They're always the ones claiming that "gaming is not for [insert people they don't like]", and that games like Dragon Age are getting "woke" and "not for them anymore". Maybe, just maybe, even going as far back as the first Baldur's Gate, BioWare games were never for these kinds of people? Because they've ALWAYS been kind of progressive, all things considered. I'd argue the Soul Reaver games are somewhat progressive, as well, considering they were directed by a woman who thinks of herself as a feminist, made by a team of artists and programmers in a studio that was historically very inclusive and diverse (dang DEI!), and addressing themes that obviously resonate more with people on the left than on the right. So maybe they're the ones these games were not made for, not us. I never had any issue with representativity in the first Baldur's Gate, in the Dragon Age games -- and it's been there since the very first one --, in the Mass Effect games (you could romance same-gendered people since the first one, don't tell me it only got "woke" with the third game which, coincidentally, is the one people dislike the most. Is there a pattern in here, or something? It almost looks like they only call things they don't like "woke", even when there were clear examples of media being "woke" before, but since everyone likes those, they're automatically exempt from being "woke". It's almost as if "woke" was just a word to classify things you don't like and doesn't really mean anything, weird, huh?). So, yeah, maybe these games were never meant for them, not us. Since we never had any problem with them being "woke" and they clearly do.
You are more obsessed with the woke idea than everbody else, every post has Woke this, woke that. Even in Topics where nobody talked about it.
You called woke a dog whistle, congrats you are the dog who always comes running for it.
