Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime Not recognising PS4 Controllers

So, I have been trying to get the controllers to work on the game but steam recognises the controllers and they work for other games. They will not for whatever reason work for Lovers in a dangerous spacetime. When I got to reassign the controllers it shows them as player 3 and 4. The first two players are Xinput controller. I go to reassign them as player one and it tells me to push any button. I push them all on my controllers and it doesn’t do anything. I have read another discussion about where the joysticks work and nothing else does. But not the case here. Nothing works. The other thread had some solutions but didn’t work for me. Has anyone figured this out. Thanks in advance

I regularly read the Steam on Linux forums, and sometimes, dis(!)abling controller support for a game helps people. Worth a try (no matter what os you're using).

I just downloaded the Ds4 Launcher and I’m pretty sure it worked. I connected one controller to the program and I opened the game. I could navigate the menu with it. Couldn’t try with 2 controllers as it was dead. Will come back and update if it works with both so it may help some people.

The game seems to have a bug w.r.t the PS4 controller. When I have mine plugged in, the game crashes (on Linux) inside `free()`. Like a double free, bad pointer, memory corruption, sort of bug.

The controller works if I unplug the PS4 controller, launch the game, then plug it. The game doesn't crash that way. Looks like a bug that only affects initialization.

the game does not support PS4 controllers because astroid base first released the game only for pc and xbox so you were not able to play on a PS4 or Dualsense controllers
