I totally second your opinion, this game would be absolutely complete with online coop... i also think character customization would be totally awesome! ( Why not workshop character customization? )
That's a really stupid thing to say, I play online most of the time and 90% of the time it is with real-life friends using Dolby Axon.

I too want to play it with a friend, who now lives in another country
in this day and age and with people having to move all the time due to jobs, life, finacial situations and other reasons, online ability is very much liked. because its getting harder and harder to get friends together to play these kinds of games that are just great with others. I'd be able to buy this for a lot more people if it had online multiplayer and I'd get far more out of this game.
because right now the friend who had this game hasn't been able to play it all that much because its just getting harder to gather the group together.
the op never said with strangers, in fact all the people they said they'd play with on online are definitely not strangers. and several people have mentioned ways to do online with mainly people you know.
