For those of you wanting online co-op...
Curious... would it be worth your while to pay AN ADDITIONAL $15 to $20 to add such a feature? I'm wondering that may be what's required to get such a feature in.

Yes, I've read posts that cite other small indie teams were able to do online MP. But you have to wonder for each of those successes, how many others decide they couldn't go that route.

If they added a server browser, then sure 15-20. Direct connect; I'd say 10 bucks?

Based on the fact that w/o online multi I have no interest in this game at all, but with it it would be an instant buy for me and also for some of my friends, the devs would get that extra money simply by just getting additional costumers.

While there's no doubt that implementing online MP will get extra sales, the big question is if it's worth it for them. If they have to put in an additional x months to a year of time to implement online MP, but the # of sales only come out to something that's far less than what they were hoping for, then it wouldn't be worth it to them. They could've spent that time on any other activity/project, and made a far better return.

If folks are willing to pay extra for online MP, I'd like to know if that would change anything as a start.

i agree with Cho, but honestly, direct/steam connect is pretty much all that's needed. i think playing it with total strangers would kind of... make it worse?
starbound didn't need the server browser and it's one of the highest-selling indie games out there right now. and it uses stream to connect. there are dozens of other examples i could get into, but eh.
i'd definitely pay 5~10 more for the co-op multiplayer.

I would donate money toward getting steam connect multiplayer, plus buy copies for friends. Its super fun, but would be better with friends! Not everyone has the luxury of being able to live close to one another.

I wanted to get this game but I have no friends that live in my state anymore and the fact they have no online just baffles me. I would buy it and maybe a copy for a friend or two if they shed their ego and add online play.

In my OP, I was wondering if folks here wanted online MP enough to pay extra for it. Would you be willing to pay $30 to $35 per copy to enable that?

but what's the point in asking this? is it gonna get done if a lot of people say yes?

I wouldn't bother. I bought this game for playing with friends on my couch and this is where I think hr game excels.

I bought this game to play online, which is why I and other people are posting in this thread, not sure what you're doing here?

Voicing my opinion. I've read the opening post and thought this was here to gather opinions.

going by the title "For those of you wanting online co-op...":
I just assumed it was to see who would pay for multiplayer, not who's already satisfied with the current state of the game.
ackmondual Oct 21, 2016 @ 12:54am
Yeah, here to hear who would and wouldn't pay for it. Customers have the habit of asking for features, but then not putting their money where their mouths are at. All opinions welcome!

Honestly these devs treating us like console gamers. Couch coop for PC? sure it works with big screen etc but it's not what pc gaming is at heart. I find it dumb as all hell for devs not to have online coop in a coop game. lazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
