Time sensitive event and some hint *spoiler*
Hey I just wanted to make a small post about the event that are time senstive for people like me who like to take it extra slow. I'll also write some random hint that are nice to know ahead of time I'll try to keep it as spoiler free as I can, but there are limit. I'm sure I'm forgeting stuff so feel free to add some more.

-Timed event

The biggest event that is on a timer happen quite early on. Once you reach the first town you need to go back where you came from asap to fight an optional boss, or he'll disapear after 2 hour of in game time and this will lock you out of a town that you can acces very late in the game.

Another one is the town of hysk (I believe that's the name, the one above the fire temple), one character will eventually ask you to find two items for him, once you do give him these two items everyone in the town will leave after a certain amount of time (which is modified by the amount of retry you used), this means that the shop and the ability to upgrade some armor/weapon will be gone forever. You can give him these item very late in the game.

Also at some point you'll need to re-visit the elder in the first town, otherwise that town will be gone forever. I'm not sure when it is, or what's the time limit (it's pretty long) or when the timer start, just come back here once in awhile, it'll be oubvious when you save the town.

-Limited item

There are a few limited item needed to upgrade armor/weapon. The highest level of both angel and devil soul only come from boss making it limited. The tamahagane is the metal used to upgrade weapon, there's also limited amount of these (4 or 5 if I remember) you can only fully level one weapon. Also there's three items that are only used to upgrade armor (look like a robe, an armor and a cowl) don't remeber the name but it's pretty obvious which one, the one you can buy in a shop in the first town. Those are also limited meaning you can't fully upgrade every armor (some armor don't require any of these thought).

-Random hints

If you get high rank on boss you'll get stats bonus, up to and including additional skill point in 3 case, Obviously S>A>B.

You cannot re spend your skill point, be carefull and plan ahead (imo magic is by far the weakest tree for both character).

Character that assist you level up when you use them, but there max level is gated by your max level, there absolute max is 5, but you can only unlock those when you reach your max level at 20.

You'll have the option of sparing a boss at some point, every RPG fan will tell you that saving them is obviously the good action since it'll lead to better reward in the end. But that'll also make a boss fight much harder later on.

Finisher level up based on stats. You'll need to re visit the people who teach you those finisher for them to level up when your stats are high enough.

That's all I can think of now. Have fun, I'd recommend not worrying about boss rank on your first playtrought, to get S rank you need to beat the boss in specific way and more often than not it just make the fight very boring.

:B1: I sure don't *points to my Avatar image*

As long as I can get through the boss fights I am happy. And this is on the easiest setting. I pretty much suck at the boss fights but I still enjoy the game.

You mean my first timed event comment? You need to go back where you fough the very first boss to fight another optional boss.

You can fight the optional boss anytime before you visit the second village. So you can kill the Feral boss in the ice area and go back if you wanted to. It does not have to be right away.

There's a specific amount of time the optional boss will stay there and will leave.

Well as i said in my game it was like a hour only past and the boss wasn't there, but i did go back to the main town via the tram so maybe i was already too far for it to count and its not time sensitive? Anyway i redid a new game since a hour isnt too far in and the boss was there and i did it. So thanks.

How many times did you retry within that hour? Retries add to your counter basically.

hahahhaha..ahha... a lot >_>;;; I spent heaps of time trying to do each boss well as well as a few stuff ups here and there in hard difficulty. Ah well, now i know how beat the other bosses quickly it should be fine. But seriously it should show the time increase on the counter that's irritating it doesn't.
Does the name of this boss start with the letter "Y"? The reason I ask is because I killed this specific boss already (somewhat tough I guess) but nothing really happened, other than being able to access areas I'd have had to go anyway to get to certain dungeons. I'm hoping I didn't miss any optional bosses...I don't want to miss out on a town.

Haven't used any retries other than against the annoying Fire boss (his shield that pops up every time you hit him...annoying).

The "Y" boss:
Wipes out an area later on if you don't take him out early.

A lot of the bosses have gameplay quirks you find through discovery and experimentation, since the game is all about mastery:
If you hit him with the icicle spell when his shield is building up, it erases the shield.

Same with dashing behind and backstabbing him (with any weapon).

I'm glad I took him out then, thanks for the response. I was scared I'd missed something.

I also let one of the others live, and smoked the result later on and got something I'm unsure what to do with yet.

I LOVE that this game does this kind of thing. These sorts of choices that affect the game later puts the game high above many others of the genre already, amongst everything else.

Cheers.

First time I played through I beat the yeti by sheer luck. Did some backtracking after the library since I remembered passing the skeleton key door... didn't know then that the Yeti appearing was time sensentive; needless to say if a guy can come across yeti on their first playthrough by luck AFTER reaching the library then it's really not that difficult to get to the second town and then back again in time to fight the yeti.

i fought the yeti very late, on my way to sanctuary actually. Maybe its not time-sensitive
