Freakin' Magus

What's the trick to defeating Magus? I barely do any damage to him, and he seems to heal himself. Maybe I'm not supposed to fight him yet?

Did you notice that big yellow crystal at the top of that area that the camera made sure to focus on before the fight started? That's the thing that's keeping the Magus shielded and healing. You need to get up there, destroy it and then beat the crap out of the Magus as much as you can before the crystal recharges itself. Just pay close attention to the blue bar, that's the crystal's energies, and when it reaches its full health it's restored and starts protecting the Magus again, so you'll have to keep destroying it everytime it fixes itself.

he also gets a massive def, att, and speed boost if he spellsteals you. so be careful of when you cast spells

Magus is a thief, so ya gotta go in naked of magic. All ya have to do, is prevent the angel from encompassing her in PURE light. Reina can do it with Solar beam, and Wyatt... fast paced movements to avoid the swords of light.

I'm having this issue with her as well. Playing Reina on godslayer and Magus barely takes any damage. Even when I very quickly destroy the crystal, if 2 little balls come out of it, it heals her back to full... or nearly full.

Yeah not gonna lie, ran into the same issue. The lack of dark magic on Reina makes that fight an exercise in futility on godslayer.

Reina can literally just kick through her guard if you have Way of the Dragon.

Wyatt and Gilda can both Poison her (if you unlocked the Dagger for Wyatt), and it does a ton of damage.

Vladyn's minions probably give him the easiest Magus fight of everyone.

I made a post on that ages ago. The way to fight her with Reina is to never use any buffs (she steals them from you and gets super powerful). Also, learn her pattern: first she summons swords, then she summons a phantom to stab you, and then se spell steals. Rinse and repeat. If you need to use Aegis for protection, be sure to do so before or after the spell stealing phase. If you're using a full MAG build, I'm sorry, but I can't be of any help to you. On the other hand, if you're doing either AGI or STR builds, don't use staff (in case you already have it), just punch/kick her for combo purposes and make sure the crystal is always destroyed.

When the angel spawns, deal with it asap (a full aerial combo should suffice).

Pro-tip for physical based builds :

-Get the Goibniu armor in the Guardian Temple and equip it.
-Before confronting Magus, lower your HP to 30%
-Wreck her in 10s.

Of couse, considering how the ones having problems now with Reina do have them because they do not yet have any dark magic, that means it's their way of getting to Ishk and thus they do not have the ability to get that armour for this fight.

But yeah, the armour could help, had it not been for that.

if you are using Full Int reina build you can easily beat her with the cleric vestment's that inflict spell ruin by the %MP missing + solar beam spam combo.it will deal 600+ damage when the MP gets somewhat lower in conjuction with the reckoning afliction.
