First time, I fled my capitol when the the invasion force arrived.
Second time, I was given a vote of no confidence and forced to marry Banion.
Mainly because although there are many ways to avoid death by confectionaries you have to actually know what skills you'll need. The skill requirements to pass it means you have to either focus on skills that are hard to get to the level you need because of the way Elodie's mood shifts (and thus neglect other skills which will be needed to survive afterwards.) I found the easiest method of survival was by becoming a lumen and focusing on maxing out those skills along with pets. The first time I passed the chocolates was by getting high levels in all three branches of economics and thus I was able to save them for later, the second time I survived was because of the puppy XD. Plus for beginners it's not something you expect to happen, you expect that candy wouldn't be the killer and when she opens the box and you lack the proper skills, it makes you want to facepalm yourself until your face is as red as a tomato.
