Many of those are simple Game Maker experiments that have very basic gameplay and possibly no text. Some of those were never for sale at all, they were posted for free and later removed.
As they're not good advertising (being nothing like my current games AND not nice to look at) and I cannot provide any sort of tech support to make them run anymore, it was better to quietly shuffle them out of sight.
Anyone REALLY dedicated can snoop around and manage to find links to purchase the ones that ever were for sale, but that's entirely at your own risk. I can't promise that anything will run and I can't help you if it doesn't.
(The forums does have a section for old games though - http://hanakoforum.nfshost.com/community/viewforum.php?f=5 )
Glad to know it was the secondary thing of mostly just being too old. I will say I have been LOVING Cute Knight, you can really see the foundations of where the company would eventually go to with titles like Long live the Queen 7 years later.
Of all the old games I think the one I am gonna try to dig out is Summer Schoolgirls since it was developed alongside Cute Knight so I think it should still have a lot of that same foundation. Though Cute Knight for now I am likely gonna get all the endings!
If I were to obtain these old files, would you be against me putting them on archive.org to preserve them? Of course if you plan on selling them or re-making them, I would never want to make you lose a profit.
I ask because I have them all, except "Shoujo Circus" which I could not find.
Thanks!
Hmm. Can you email me about that? (The answer is a vague maybe but I need more information) support@hanakogames.com should reach me.
Hi,
My girlfriend used to play Goblin Garden when she was younger, way back in 2005. I really wanted to surprise her with a copy for our anniversary.
I will make sure it runs by myself but I was just wondering if you could maybe direct it to somewhere I could find it or if you have it?
I appreciate you even taking the time to read this.
I just peeked at the old website via archive.org ( https://web.archive.org/web/20070807095156/https://www.hanakogames.com/goblins.shtml ) and the free download version of that particular game appears to still download, though I have NO idea if it runs. (Kind of surprised anyone played that actually!) If that's not what you were looking for, email me so I can give other suggestions off the board.
If it weren't for all the puzzles it would be tempting to make a remastered version for fun, but since each puzzle is unique and based on things I could do with the tool I was using at the time, trying to code a replacement in another engine would be a tall order.
